Present day.
At the reunion.

Damn... So many people.

I didn't expect this many people would come to this reunion. It's like the whole university batch of 2018 was present.

I looked around, my eyes searching for specifically one person who left me hanging without saying a single word.

"Looking for her?", Kai asked squeezing my hand.

I looked at her, "Human habits i guess..?", I said sheepishly, "I am sorry... I am such an idiot-"

"It's okay... It's not like I don't know"

"Still, I am with you. You are my girlfriend, and it's stupid."

"C'mon Amiya... It's fine. Chill" "I don't know what I did to deserve you." She pinches my cheek, "It's not like you still want her right...?"

I sense her insecurity, "No.. no of course not, you should know that more than anyone"

She smiled, "Mhmm.. I know that more than anyone"

Will she come? All the way to America just for a reunion like this?

Soft music was filling my ears, and the smell of alcohol mixed with scents of people filled my nose.

There she is, Aadhvita, with her iconic long wavy hair flowing all the way to her waist and a bindi to balance out the maroon-ness of the saree.
And... She is with a guy.

"Damn she came...", Kai said, definitely surprised.

"Yeah... Damn... Oh shit she is coming-"

Kai squeezes my hand, "Relax.. relax.. she isn't gonna eat you"

"I wanna get out..."

"Shut up.", she said wrapping an arm on my forearm.

Aadhvita walks over to me, smiling, "Hey... Long time.."

My heart is going to stop by how fast it was beating.

"Hey.. y-yeah.. long time!", wow very good Amiya, stutter like that.

"Hello Kai", she says looking over at Kai.

"Hello Aadhvita, I didn't expect you would come all the way to America for a reunion like this."

"I couldn't miss it..", she says smiling.

She looks at me and says, "I owe an explanation."

Shit- I don't wanna hear it.

I looked over at Kai and she nodded. I took a deep breath, "Alright..."

What explanation could you possibly give after all that?
