This is taking place in the DarkLight AU, a splatoon alternate universe I made which is currently being reworked on. So don't be surprised if some things seem strange to you, it's just part of the AU you have no context on (for now).

Headquarters of the Street Soldiers gang, early afternoon. Nothing suspicious or dangerous was signaled on their Dark Side's turf, not even from Jihoon's Kensa Clan. So half of the members were resting, the other half was doing the daily area check-ups.
Ray was in Daisuke's office, waiting for him to come back. He was early for their little rendez-vous (for once), maybe a bit too much but it was okay. He thought it was a good opportunity to continue his book in peace anyway. This place was perfect for this since it was the quietest in Splatsville.
And not gonna lie, Daisuke's room was so cool. Ray loved to look at his collection of skateboards, Sonic The Hedgehog figurines and artbooks he made himself. It perfectly depicted Daisuke's personality and it was therefore very inspiring for Ray. Your loved one could be a really nice source of inspiration, especially in writing.
Ray was currently slouched over his chair, chewing the tip of his pen and trying to come up with a good idea. It's been a while since he was working on his writing project and it was going pretty well. The deadline was certainly approaching but luckily for him he almost finished his story.
Basically, it was about Rhett, a lonely prince who ran away from the life he no longer wanted to follow. During his journey, he met Dylan, a street skater who was struggling to fix the mistakes of his past. They found each other and together, they healed their wounds and created the path they always wanted.
That was in fact heavily inspired by Ray's own encounter and relationship with Daisuke, even the protagonists' names were similar. But after all, it all started thanks to this. Without Daisuke, Ray still wouldn't have found what to write about and he was grateful to him for that, as well as a lot of other things.
Today though, inspiration was completely failing him, and it seemed like he couldn't manage to get over it. He wanted to write a scene of the two getting more comfortable with each other, evolving their relationship into something more serious and romantic. The problem was that he had no idea how to bring it up.
He deeply stared at his blank page, secretly hoping to see words magically appearing on it and showing him the proper way. Unfortunately and realistically, it didn't. He signed loudly and smashed his head on the table, slowly losing motivation.
Ray suddenly heard the door opening and his ears pricked up at the sound. He glanced to the side and saw Daisuke coming in quietly, taking off his black mask and hood, stamper still strapped on his back. Daisuke then noticed Ray and softly smiled at the sight of his ears wiggling, knowing it meant he was happy to see him.
"Hey there Manta."
"Hi Dai, how was your patrol ?" Ray wondered, curious.
"Pretty good actually, everything's calm on the Dark Side. Not very common but enjoyable for sure." Daisuke shrugged.
"Good to hear. And I hope you're okay too."
"I am. How are you by the way, Sunshine ?"
"Even better now that you called me that !"
Daisuke smirked and walked up to Ray to stay behind his seat after running his hand in his hair for a brief moment, but that was until Ray grabbed his fingers in his to plant a small kiss on the inside of his wrist. Daisuke chuckled as it tickled, laying a quick peck on his temple in return, and he looked more closely at the multiple sheets on the desk.
