I could go with Riders, the original and unbeatable classic. But Zero Gravity has the best mechanics and story mode besides having more playable characters. Or I split the difference with Free if I have enough energy to play…
Daisuke stared at the Sonic Riders trilogy resting on the coffee table, trying to solve his dilemma. Tonight was game night and he wanted to go back to his good old childhood franchises, starting with Sonic The Hedgehog of course.
He finally decided to choose Zero Gravity, even though he played it a countless number of times, heh it doesn’t matter. After all, it was his favorite. Daisuke took the game out of its cover to put it in the old wii and pulled out his yellow controller before sitting back on the couch.
Daisuke was selecting the japanese voiceover (because it gave him nostalgia) when Ray came back in the living room with a growling Sunny in his arms, who was ragefully trying to bite his fingers off. Daisuke raised an eyebrow at the scene in front of him and Ray shrugged.
“Bath time.”
Daisuke nodded and Sunny managed to release himself from Ray’s grip with yet another attempt, barking loudly and dashing into the kitchen to hide under the table, glaring at anyone who would dare getting him out. Ray rolled his eyes and took place next to Daisuke.
“Seems like he’s mad at you.” He commented.
“It’s for his own good.”
Ray then noticed the game Daisuke had just launched and a smile creeped on his face. “Sonic huh, I ain't surprised.”
“Look, I’m a loyal fan. The games are fire, the series are literal gold and Sonic himself is canonically bi. If these aren’t valuable reasons I don’t know what are.”
Ray chuckled, after all he wasn’t indifferent to it either. The number of merch that filled their entire apartment could definitely attest to that, and him having a crush on almost every Sonic character kind of helped him discover his bisexuality.
“Wanna play with me ?” Daisuke asked, handing him another controller.
“To have you kick my ass for the tenth billion time ? No thanks, I prefer watching you.”
“How rude dude. That’s how you treat your boyfriend ?”
“Yeah.”
Daisuke bombastically side-eyed him and Ray stuck out his tongue, proud of himself. “Alright, if you're doin’ it that way…”
Ray tilted his head, confused, and blinked of surprise when Daisuke took his chin in his hand to pull him closer. “Wait, what are you do-”
“Punishing you for such unfair behavior.”
Daisuke looked at him with flirty eyes (that made Ray go bi mode instantly) and put a fleeting kiss on the very corner of his mouth, soothing it with a little lick at the end. Ray’s ears brutally flattened on the side of his head as a massive blush spread on his cheeks.
“So, what do you have to say about that ?” Daisuke scoffed at him, now that it was his turn to be proud of himself.
Ray stayed frozen for a few seconds there, time to recover and process what just happened. He didn’t say a thing either at first but suddenly grabbed the collar of Daisuke’s shirt to pull him back, determined to not let him go away with it this easily.
“That I'm gonna get my revenge.”
Daisuke’s eyes widened when his lips met Ray’s and he dropped his controller out of surprise. It fell with a loud noise but it wasn’t like he cared that much actually. Simply because Daisuke only cared about Ray kissing him right now, so it didn’t take long for him to come back to his senses and join in.
How could he resist after all ? Daisuke always loved the softness of Ray’s kisses and immediately melted against him in his passionate, lovely embrace. Ray let go of him after a moment and just before doing so, he briefly licked his lips just like Daisuke did to him several seconds ago.
“Guess I found out how to beat you in video games.” Ray giggled, having noticed Daisuke’s blush as well as the poor controller who unfortunately hitted the ground.
“And I’m totally down for that. Does that mean you wanna play with me now ?”
“Fine, one round or two, maybe more. But at least give me a chance to win against you.”
“Oh, you won’t need it Manta.” Daisuke assured Ray with a smile. “You already won.”
