Plotless cute and gay cuddles.
---------------------
Today was a morning like any other for the city of chaos, Splatsville. The awakening sun was progressively projecting its pale early summer glow on the square, illuminating the massive apartments nearby. It was therefore very calm as a lot of the shops were still closed at this hour and inkfish, asleep for most of all.
Ray's ears slightly wiggled to the sound of the sparrows chirping outside the opened windows. Slowly awakening, he opened his eyes before shutting them close again, blinded by the light piercing through the blinds. After getting acquainted with it, he straightened up a bit on the bed while a yawn escaped him.
Still a little sleepy, he pulled away from his view some messy locks of his loose cornrows falling on his face with his wrist. But he stopped doing that, feeling it was unusually heavy, and glanced down at it to take a closer look with a raised eyebrow. Only to see a long warm yellow tentacle wrapped around it.
Ray smiled and his gaze drifted to Daisuke, sleeping next to him. And cod, words couldn't express how beautiful he was to him right now. The enlightening rays were shining on his tan skin, highlighting its perfect traits and peaceful expression of sleep as it was emphasizing his ink color with golden reflections.
After delicately brushing his fingers against Daisuke's tentacle to free his arm from its gentle grip, Ray approached his face closer to his, focusing a little more on the scars on his nose and cheeks. Daisuke was so pretty and lovely at this instant, Ray really wanted to kiss him, and he could.
However, Ray seemed like he wouldn't be able to do it soon, because Daisuke suddenly moved, apparently waking up. Daisuke first let out a small grumble, definitely not in the mood for it, until Ray put a hand on his cheek to caress it and he immediately relaxed, thanks to him. They stayed like that for a moment, simply enjoying each other's proximity.
Slowly escaping sleep at last, Daisuke managed to peek at Ray, barely. But just enough to have an idea of how adorable he looked with his pink hair down and pale freckles standing out in the sun. Sun who was also turning his blueish eyes into two hypnotizing sapphires that lost Daisuke in them by a soft gaze of Ray.
Finding him very dreamy and lovable at this sight, Daisuke got in mind the exact same idea Ray shared a few minutes ago. Lazily lifting his head as best he could, he tried to kiss him, but Daisuke was still too half-awake to land it right and missed, kissing Ray's chin instead while almost bumping his forehead with his.
"Morning Dai." Ray chuckled, tenderized by the clumsy yet sweet gesture.
"Mornin'." Daisuke mumbled, tiredly smashing his head back on the pillow.
"You slept well ?"
"Not too bad, I guess."
"That's good for ya. Have any plans for today ?" Ray asked, already thinking about what they could do to spend the day.
But all he got as an answer was Daisuke muttering : "Sleeping. Again. Too early."
"Obviously, I ain't even surprised."
"But I want you to stay with me."
"Hmm, I don't know if I'll allow it that easily y'know..." He smirked with a flirty ton.
Daisuke frowned, narrowing his eyes at him with a look that literally said 'seriously bro you're right there'. To which Ray simply and playfully stuck his tongue out to him, finding it very funny. Daisuke rolled his eyes and gave him a side-eye, determined to not let Ray get away with that.
"Shut up and c'mere instead of saying dumb shit."
Straightening on the bed to arrive at Ray's height, Daisuke tried to trap him in a hug to drag him back under the blankets, though it didn't go as expected. Because Ray grabbed Daisuke's wrist, pulling him a little, leaving both of their faces being only a few centimeters apart.
"Ask nicer and maybe I'll change my mind." Ray affectionately teased.
"Ugh fine." Daisuke yielded, actually not minding at all. "Ray, love of my life."
"Yeah ?"
"Can you come closer and cuddle with me, please ?"
"Of course Daisuki."
Ray kissed him on the cheek, making him purr for a brief instant, before Daisuke rolled into him to the side with a sleepy hum. Ray didn't hesitate a second more to snuggle up comfortably against his chest, draping his arms around him, while Daisuke rested his head on his, ankles hooking together.
"Actually, you were right. This is a nice plan." Ray admitted.
"Told ya."
"It's enjoyable for sure, but are we really gonna stay like that all day ?"
"Why not ? It's comfy." Daisuke argued, with a quite valid argument in fact.
"You got a point right there." He couldn't do anything but approve.
"I know."
"Okay if we're not moving, can I rub your back then ?"
"Gladly."
Ray tucked his hands beneath Daisuke' shirt, fingertips delicately brushing along his back all the way up to his upper body, following the rough path of his massive scar. A sigh of contentment escaped Daisuke the second Ray's warm palms gently pressed on his shoulder blades, relieving him from the slight pain he was usually feeling in that spot.
Daisuke's tentacles slowly wrapped around Ray's torso when he hugged him tighter, arms reaching his hair to stroke it. He then completely messed his hands in his tentacles, much to Ray's pleasure as he huffed a laugh because of tickleness, and they affectionately responded by lightly squishing Daisuke's fingers in return.
Ray's ears also gave a wiggle at the sweetness of the gesture and he relaxed thanks to the repetitive stroking and the echo of Daisuke's heartbeat resonating in his head. Daisuke on his side, couldn't help but purr when Ray started to trace small circles on his back and he nuzzled his face in his neck, leaning a little more into his touch.
Cozily wrapped in his embrace, Daisuke progressively drifted to sleep again. Ray took notice and fondly smiled, not having the heart to prevent him from doing so anymore. He planted a soft kiss on his eyelid and closed his eyes as well, preferring to stay like that with him, not wanting this moment to end.
