Sorry for not updating for such a long time (classic), I was busy dying from lack of brain, going on a 3-day vacation, and generally having more ideas for the next major arc. Also don't expect this to be as good.

"...1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2"
A uniformed officer keeps pace as he leads the march of a platoon worth of men with arquebuses slung behind their back. With the coastal surroundings retaken along with some towns deeper into the island, the regular Berian Army had finally returned to their homeland.
"HAAALLLLT!" the column commander shouted.
On "1!" the formation stepped forward with their left foot as normal. On "2!" the right foot was lifted high, heel's parellel to the ground and then they stomped on the ground hard, a singular thud turned into a mini thunder from synchronization.
The officer then puts the hilt of his sabre in front of his face, the blade facing outward, and somewhat curved towards him, all done for the Geschnokean officer before him as he would return a salute before dropping his hand after a short while.
The Berian then puts the hilt down to a full arm length down at an angle in such a way it points towards the ground.
"Captain Dure Utsi of the 31st Regiment, 3rd Battalion, Royal Berian Army reporting for duty!"
His Geschnokean counterpart nodded.
"Welcome back home" he began "I know many of you have been eager to come back for a while now. And even though it is true that we have managed to push the demons back, there is no denying that the end of this war is still far away. This town is still at risk of some attacks from demons and as such, all of you, as with your comrades in other towns will be tasked with guarding this settlement as well as support in the rebuilding effort by the people. Am I being understood?"
"SIR, YES SIR!" the entire formation shouted.
"Good, that's all I have to say. You are hereby dismissed"

On the other half of the island, local militia formed by the civilian populous, both those who stayed and remained hidden until their liberation and returning residents marched past.
With almost no uniform in sight, the bears were armed with whatever they could find from the houses and weaponry dropped by the late DLA garrison, either dead or ran away. Axes, knifes, daggers, swords, or even arquebuses that was likely left behind by the army soldiers.
They are to supplement, then supersede the coalition forces to guard the town. To be more specific, they were to supersede the Flash Land Army's 10th Division troops that freed them from the chains of the DLA, taking responsibility of not only protecting their resurrected community, but also taking on the collective rebuilding effort.
They are not the best in their class, and they're not military in any way, or at least, not the official Army. But still, they'd give their best to stand against the demons and make sure that their beloved home never falls again.
And with that, they sent off the strange, but sympathetic men on the green rattling carriages off to do their duties on behalf of not only their land where they came from, but also of the Berian nation as a whole.
The foot march of the militia waved goodbye to the armored column going the opposite way, to the destroyed walls and out of the town.
"Alrighty... It's showtime again, remember to stay sharp and don't die out there, though I doubt any of you would be stupid enough to do that... good luck"
