3rd Person POV:

Darren was carrying Tohka in a piggyback position as the two of them headed home. Darren kept on walking forward before stopping a couple more steps to his house.

Darren: This is far enough.

Caster appeared behind Darren with his gun in his pocket.

Caster: Oh? You don't need an escort, then?

Darren: I could do without one who wants to kill me.

Caster: You impress me, although I shouldn't be so impressed with those eyes you have.

Caster scoffed, which made Darren sigh in return.

Caster: It seems you know enough to sense hostility, at least. Rin has ordered me to escort you peacefully, so I will refrain from attacking you

Darren: Is that so?

Darren turned to face Caster before he glared at him.

Darren: But if you want to go, I'm happy to take you on. I may be inexperienced, but I am still both a mage and a Jujutsu Sorcerer.

Caster: Don't be absurd. A mage who doesn't reek of blood is worse than a novice. Even if you have that rebellious will inside you.

Darren: You're saying that I don't have the smell of blood on me?

Caster: Mages are beings who become cold-blooded in order to achieve their goals. You should follow Tohsaka Rin's example. She might have a soft spot or two, but she has the proper mindset despite her age. You only were able to achieve that through your enlightened state when you awakened the Reverse Cursed Technique.

Darren chuckled before keeping his glare on Caster.

Darren: It's fortunate that Tohsaka's your master. She's your best shot at getting the grail.

Caster: You mean the malevolent treasure chest that can grant human wishes? I have no interest in such a thing.

Darren: No interest? Don't servants fight in this war to have a wish fulfilled that they couldn't achieve in life?

Caster: Hardly. We're summoned with no say in the matter. We Servants have no free will. Your Rider and the other Master's Archer are probably the only ones who answer the call of their own volition.

Darren: Only Rider and Archer?

Darren's eyes widened as Caster merely smirked at him.

Caster: That's right. Heroic spirits are called forth by other's wills. We're nothing more than disposable tools. Do you honestly believe that, in our hearts of hearts, we wish to help humans?
