Klaus and Stefan are in a clothing store, drinking champagne and waiting for Rebekah, who's trying on clothes. Artemis on Klaus lap. "Can I have some?" Artemis asks pointing at Klaus's glass of champagne. "No, you cannot," Klaus says. "Why not?" Artemis asks. "Because you have to be of a certain age, Little Wolf." Klaus says. "What certain age?" Artemis asks. "21, Little Wolf." Klaus says. "But that's 14 years away." Artemis says. "Yes it's Little Wolf. You'll have to wait until then." Klaus says. "There has to be more to this dress." Rebekah says. "There's not." Klaus says. She comes out of the fitting room, she's wearing a dress. "So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes, then. You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers." Rebekah says. "You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing." Klaus says. "What's a prostitute?" Artemis asks. Klaus glares at Rebekah. "I'll tell you when you're older, Little Wolf." Klaus says. "And what is this music? It sounds like a cable car accident." Rebekah says. "It's dance music." Stefan says. "People dance to this?" Rebekah asks. "Hmm." Stefan says. "Are we done?" Klaus asks. "And why are you so grumpy?" Rebekah says. "I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying. One thing, your necklace and you lost it." Klaus says. "I didn't lose it. It's just been missing for 90 years." Rebekah says, she looks at Stefan. "So what do you think?" Rebekah asks. "I like it." Stefan says. She doesn't seem satisfied. "What? I said, I like it." Stefan says. "I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan." Rebekah says, she goes back into the fitting room. Klaus look at Stefan. "Nice one, good work." Klaus says. "You're the one that pulled the dagger out of her." Stefan says. "I heard that." Rebekah says. "All right, I'm going to get some fresh air." Stefan says, he gets up. Klaus pours himself some champagne. Stefan is about to go out and sees Katherine across the street, she makes him a sign so he follows her.
Stefan enters Gloria's bar. Gloria is sitting at a table. Klaus, Artemis and Rebekah are at the bar. "You left us." Rebekah says. "Yeah, sorry. Retail therapy was making my head explode." Stefan says. "Tell me about it." Klaus says. Stefan looks at Gloria. "What's she doing?" Stefan asks. "She's failing." Klaus says. "It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on." Gloria says. "Use Rebekah, she wore it for a thousand years." Artemis says, making them look at her. "See? Now this one offers a solution." Gloria says. Rebekah sits on the table. "All right, give me your hand, sweetheart." Gloria says. Rebekah gives her hand. "She's, uh. She's looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan says. Artemis looks at Stefan smelling his worry. "I can sense something." Gloria says. Stefan seems a little bit worried. Gloria drops Rebekah's hand and looks at Klaus and Stefan. "I found it." Gloria says. "So where is it?" Rebekah asks. "It doesn't work like that, doll. I get images, there's a girl with her friends..." Gloria says. "Yes, a dead girl with dead friends. If I don't get my necklace back." Rebekah says. "Well, I'll have to dive back in to get the details." Gloria says. "So dive." Klaus says. "I need more time and space. You're harshing my ju-ju." Gloria says. "We can wait." Klaus says. "I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked." Gloria says. "Hey, hey. You know, why don't we just come back later? I'm hungry anyway. I'll let you pick who we eat." Stefan says. Klaus looks at Rebekah and they leave with Stefan.
Klaus and Stefan are on a couch drinking from two girls. Rebekah looks at them. Artemis is sitting on the floor sketching in her sketchbook. "My girl's dead. I'm bored." Rebekah says. Klaus looks at Stefan. "You weren't kidding about being hungry." Klaus says. "Yeah, It's been a long day." Stefan says. "Try being related to her." Klaus says. Klaus laughs. "You're being mean and why are you being mean? You used to love me." Rebekah says. "It's been 90 years, Rebekah. Give him a minute." Klaus says. "Why are you taking his side?" Rebekah asks. "Because, my dear sister. I feel pity for any man who doesn't give you what you want." Klaus says. "Will you stop making me out to be a brat? I am not a brat!" Rebekah exclaims. "A thousand years of life experience says otherwise." Klaus says. "Well, you're no picnic, either. I mean, I've only spent one summer with you and I feel like I want to blow my head off." Stefan says. Rebekah laughs. "Fantastic." Rebekah says. Stefan gets up. "I need to go." Stefan says, he leaves. "Where's he going?" Rebekah asks. "To write a name on a wall. It's a long story." Klaus says.
Stefan is putting Gloria's body in a sheet. "I've been thinking about your diabolical plan." Katherine says. "Oh, do tell." Stefan says. "Well, you must know that Klaus is too paranoid to ever fully trust you. But the sister, she loves you like it was yesterday. She's the easier mark, but you can't just pretend to care, because Klaus will know better so will Artemis. So you do the opposite, you bond with him and Artemis. Make her feel left out, that will only make her want you more." Katherine says. "Oh! So you mean. I'm, uh, I'm taking a page out of the Katherine Pierce playbook." Stefan says. "The only question is why, Stefan? I mean, I get it, you want to keep Klaus away from Mystic Falls. But...what else do you expect to get from it?" Katherine asks. "You know what's funny? You keep talking to me like I actually trust you enough to tell you anything." Stefan says. "Oh, come on, Stefan, we're beyond that. I saved you from Hilda, the high voodoo priestess." Katherine says. "Ok. I knew them back in the twenties. They were running from someone. Someone who scared them." Stefan says. "A hunter. I heard stories about him centuries ago." Katherine says. "Don't you want to know why an original vampire who can't be killed is afraid of a vampire hunter?" Stefan asks. "If you're planning on making a move against Klaus... I want in." Katherine says. "That's good. It's good to want things, Katherine." Stefan says. "Stefan..." Katherine says. "Katherine, I'm in this alone. If you're looking for a diabolical partner in crime, I suggest you look elsewhere." Stefan says, he leaves with Gloria's body on his shoulder.
Stefan looks at the coffins and stops in front of one. He touches it but Rebekah and Artemis enter, so he removes his hand. "You're back, finally. Nik went to check on the witch." Rebekah says, she looks at the coffin. "Dreary, isn't it? The family cargo." Rebekah says. "Hmm, why don't you undagger them?" Stefan says. "Because he would hunt me down and kill me. He's a vindictive little bastard, my brother." Rebekah says. "But you still care about him, why?" Stefan asks. "Well, I hated him for a long time, it was exhausting." Rebekah says, she sits down on the coffin and Stefan sits next to her. Artemis goes to Kol's coffin opening it and making sure his mind is in a good place and not torturing him. "You know, when I met you two. You were both on the run." Stefan says. "Also exhausting." Rebekah says. "Who were you running from?" Stefan asks. "What do you mean?" Rebekah asks. "Last night I saw you, there was a man looking for you. You both seemed afraid. I just... I wouldn't think Klaus would be afraid of anybody." Stefan says. "No one in this world is truly fearless, Stefan. Not even Niklaus." Rebekah says. "Who was that man?" Stefan asks. "I can't, please." Rebekah says. Artemis closes Kol's coffin looking at Rebekah and Stefan. Rebekah stands up. "If Nik knew we were talking about this. He would..." Rebekah says. "No, no, no, I'm sorry." Stefan says, he stands up. "Just forget I asked, ok?" Stefan asks. "He told me about the girl you loved, the one that died. He also told me that you're only with him because he saved your brother." Rebekah says. "It's true." Stefan says. "I think he secretly admires that about you. You'd sacrifice anything for family, don't tell him I told you that." Rebekah says. "Your secret... is safe with me." Stefan says. She kisses him. Artemis scrunches her face in disgust. "Do you think you'll ever love anyone like you loved that girl?" Rebekah asks. "One day, maybe." Stefan says. "I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan." Rebekah says. "What? I'm not..." Stefan says. "Don't bother, your kiss already gave you away." Rebekah says. Klaus enters. "Gloria's gone, she's cleared out. We need to find a new witch immediately." Klaus says, he stops and looks at them. "What's going on?" Klaus asks. "Something's wrong. He was asking about Mikael. He's not with us, Nik. I can sense it." Rebekah says. "She's wrong, Klaus...." Stefan says. "She's not." Artemis says, making them look at her. "Little Wolf." Klaus says. "Back in Tennessee, when you mentioned killing the doppelganger, Stefan smelled like guilt, not grief and when Gloria was looking for the necklace, he was worried and for the past couple of days, he's been smelling like someone I've smelled before but don't know who the scent belongs to. I now know it belongs to the doppelganger." Artemis says, Klaus speeds over to Stefan snapping his neck.
Stefan wakes up. Klaus is looking at him. "Just give me a chance to explain myself, ok?" Stefan asks. "No need, I'm not mad. I'm just curious, Rebekah seems to think you're holding onto something. A piece of your old life, the thing is, she's got flawless instincts. Borderline supernatural and Artemis is very observant and picks up on everyone's scent and chemo signals. So I thought I would check it out, see for myself what it is you've been hiding." Klaus says, he opens the truck. They're in Mystic Falls. "Welcome back to Mystic Falls, Stefan." Klaus says.
