Season 3 Ep 2

Klaus and Stefan are walking in the mountains. Stefan is holding Ray who is unconscious, on his shoulders. Artemis in Klaus's arms. "You ok? Is Ray getting heavy?" Klaus asks. "I'm fine." Stefan replies. "You sure about that? You know, we've been walking for quite some time now. If you need some water or a little sit down..." Klaus says. "You know, I get that we're, uh... we're stuck together, but if we could maybe just skip the chitchat, it'd be great." Stefan says. "So much brooding. Your self loathing is suffocating you, my friend." Klaus says. "Maybe it's cause I'm a little tired of hunting werewolves. We've been at it all summer." Stefan says. "Thanks to our pal Ray. We found ourselves a pack there." Klaus says. They stop, they found the pack. Klaus puts Artemis down. Stefan enters their camp. Everyone looks at him. He puts Ray on the ground. A woman runs over to him. "Ray! Oh, my God, what's going on? Who are you?" A woman questions. Klaus joins Stefan. "The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus." Klaus says. "You're the hybrid." The woman says. Klaus smiles. "You've heard of me. Fantastic." Klaus says.

Klaus and Stefan are sitting. Artemis climbs up a tree and sits down on one of the branches. Everyone is looking at Klaus. "It's fascinating, actually... a werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid." Klaus says. Ray awakens, sitting up with a gasp. "Excellent timing, Ray, very dramatic." Klaus says. "What's happening to me?" Rays asks. "Stefan?" Klaus asks. Stefan stands up. "Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die." Stefan asks. "Doesn't take much, just a sample, anyone? A boyfriend, a girlfriend. Along for the ride?" Klaus asks. Artemis smells out a human and points to him. "That one." Artemis says. Klaus looks at her to see who she's pointing at, the others look at her with a little fear and intrigue as to why she's here. Klaus speeds over to him and bites his forearm. Stefan grabs him, throws him on the ground in front of Ray. The woman protests, but Klaus strangles her. "If you don't drink it, Ray. I will, problem is I don't know how to stop." Stefan says. Klaus looks at the girl. "It's the new order, sweetheart. You join us, or you die." Klaus says. "I'd rather die than be a vampire." The woman says, "Wrong choice." Klaus states he bites his wrist, forcing her to drink his blood. Ray drinks the blood from the man. "She'll thank me for that later, heh." Klaus says, he snaps her neck. Ok, who's next?" Klaus asks, his eyes are yellow and his fangs are out. Klaus gives his blood to the human and compels him. "There, good as new. Now you relax, ok, mate? We're gonna need you when the rest of them wake up." Klaus says.

"They're dead. They're all dead." Ray says, "Ah, he's through his transition. He should be feeling better soon." Klaus says. "So is this your master plan? Build an army of hybrid slaves?" Stefan asks. "No, not slaves, soldiers, comrades." Klaus says. "For what war, might I ask?" Stefan asks. "Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Stefan. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick the fight." Klaus says. "What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?" Stefan asks. "Well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team. That's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip off your shoulder." Klaus says. Stefan laughs, "That's why you're, uh... you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?" Stefan asks. "You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know." Klaus says. Ray's eyes start to bleed, causing Artemis to pipe up smelling the blood. "Something's wrong." Klaus states. "That shouldn't be happening, should it?" Stefan asks. "Well, obviously." Artemis says, making Stefan look up at her and her to glow her eyes at him. Ray is shaking and his eyes continue to bleed. "You said it was gonna feel better. Why doesn't it feel better?" Ray asks. "Some master race." Stefan says. "Lose the attitude." Klaus says. The woman wakes up. "Derek, come feed your girlfriend." Klaus says, He gets up. Ray snarls and makes a few jumps and leaves. Klaus looks at Stefan. "Go get him." Klaus says. Artemis jumps down from the tree, goes into the woods and undressing before shifting into her wolf. Stefan jumps on Ray and pushes him on the ground. Ray bites him and runs off. Stefan is about to go after him, but he hears Damon and Elena's voices. Stefan sees them walking. Klaus walks over to Stefan and Stefan tries to guide him away so he doesn't see them. "Where did he go?" Klaus asks. "He, uh... he got away. Forget him, let's go." Stefan replies. Klaus sees the werewolf bite on his arm. "A fatal werewolf bite, ouch." Klaus says. "Yeah, I'm gonna need your blood to heal me." Stefan stats. "Well, I tell you what, you find Ray and then I'll heal you." Klaus says. "You can't be serious." Stefan says. "You better hurry, cause that bite looks nasty." Klaus says.

Night has fallen and the full moon up in the air. Klaus is with Derek. Artemis in her wolf form playing along the tree line. "Bad news, my friend. End of the road for you." Klaus says, he sinks his teeth into him, drinking him dry. The woman walks over and stands in front of him. "Careful, love. There's only one Alpha here." Klaus says. All the werewolves' eyes are bleeding, they look like zombies. Smelling the blood causes Artemis to stop playing and look at the werewolves. "Bloody hell." Klaus states.

Stefan comes back with Ray. The rest of the pack are dead. Klaus is here, Artemis still in her wolf form next to Klaus. "They went rabid. Some of them I killed, the others just... bled out. In the end... they're all dead." Klaus says. "I did everything I was told! I should be able to turn them, I broke the curse. I killed a werewolf, I killed a vampire, I killed the doppelganger." Klaus yells, making Stefan uncomfortable. Artemis picks up on that and looks at him, smelling guilt. "You look like hell." Klaus says. "Last I checked, I'm dying... and you don't want to heal me. I had to take him out. I didn't have a choice. I failed you. I'm sorry, do what you have to do." Stefan states. "It should have worked." Klaus says, he takes a bottle of beer, he bites his wrist allowing his blood to drip into the bottle and gives the bottle to Stefan. "Bottoms up, we're leaving. It appears you're the only comrade I have left." Klaus says.
