Matt is working. Rebekah walks up to the bar and places a set of keys on the bar. "What's that?" Matt asks. "The key to your new truck. It's parked outside, paid for, insured, everything but a big red bow." Rebekah replies. "If that's your idea of an apology... you should probably give it to Elena. She's the one you killed." Matt says. He walks away. Klaus and Artemis are at the bar. Klaus is looking at Rebekah while Artemis is eating fries. "You're trying too hard." Klaus says. "Last I heard, you were leaving town... forever." Rebekah says. "Well, I was. But then I thought to myself, how can I when my sister, clearly so desperate for love and affection, is left here... Bribing the help and Artemis would curse me if I didn't say goodbye." Klaus says. "What do you want, Nik?" Rebekah says. "Things change, Rebekah. I've stumbled upon something I think might be of interest to you." Klaus says. "Doubt that." Rebekah says. "No? Well, what if I told you the brotherhood of the five still existed?" Klaus asks. "What?" Rebekah asks in shock. "You see? And like that, bygones. Come on, love. Work to do." Klaus says as he steals one of Artemis's fries, she glares at him and Klaus pats her head. "We don't have anything to do. There is no 'we'. I don't care about the five." Rebekah says. "As you wish." Klaus says. He and Artemis leave once she finishes her fries. "Bye, Aunt Bekah." Artemis says. "See you later, Little Flower." Rebekah says.

Klaus opens the doors to a room. In the room, Connor is chained up against a wooden medieval torture device. Klaus walks in and stands next to him. "Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security detail." Klaus says. Stefan walks out of the shadows. "I was going to take him, but I figured you went through such trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain." Stefan says. "It's from the inquisition. I thought it was a nice touch." Klaus says. "What'd you get out of him?" Stefan asks. "Not enough. He's mum about the council fire and he's not saying anything about this greater evil we're all supposed to be shivering over. What brings you snooping?" Klaus asks. "Well, I can't say it in front of him. As I'm sure you've figured out, our friend here can't be compelled." Stefan replies. Connor looks at Klaus. "You're full of mysteries, aren't you?" Klaus asks. "I told you, I don't know anything." Conner replies. "Thankfully, I know plenty." Klaus says. Klaus walks out of the room and gestures for Stefan to come with him. "Shall we?" Klaus asks. Stefan stares at Connor for a few more seconds and follows Klaus out. Klaus shuts the doors to the room and turns to Stefan. "So what's with the home invasion?" Klaus asks, sitting down on the couch next to Artemis, who is drawing. "Damon said you knew something about this guy. I should have figured you were up to something when you healed Elena from the werewolf poison without asking for anything in return." Stefan says. "I was feeling benevolent." Klaus says. Artemis stops and looks up at Klaus. "Since when are you benevolent to anyone but me." Artemis says. Klaus looks at Artemis. "You're not wrong there, Little Wolf." Klaus says. "Who is this guy? What's the five?" Stefan asks. "So many questions." Klaus replies. "It's a good thing I have nothing to do today except get answers out of you." Stefan replies. "Fine. You might actually be useful in persuading my sister to cooperate. The Brotherhood of the Five was a group of highly skilled vampire hunters. We crossed paths with them in the twelfth century. Italy. My siblings and I had followed the Normans as they conquered the South. Feeding, turning people as we went." Klaus says. Klaus starts to tell Stefan about his and the rest of the Mikaelson's time in the 12th century Italy, a story Artemis has heard before as a bedtime story.
