Klaus and Artemis wanders around an excavation dig site as he chats on the phone with Stefan. People that Klaus compelled digging up the site looking for the sword. Rebekah was supposed to be there but she didn't want be there. "How the hell did Connor escape?" Stefan asks. "I blame mind numbing incompetence, but pointing fingers isn't going to help me. You're going to help me." Klaus says. "Well, he could be anywhere now." Stefan says. "Think, Stefan. He took the hybrid's head, which means he wants werewolf toxin." Klaus says. "Which means he plans to stay in Mystic Falls to kill vampires." Stefan says. "Which is a pity. Artemis and I being on the other side of the world digging up a dead hunter, you'll have no access to my blood. And therefore the antidote. Nevertheless, his tattoo is our only map to the cure, so your task is quite simple. Find him, catch him, and above all, keep him alive. He's no good to us dead." Klaus says. Stefan says nothing and hangs up his phone. Klaus smirks and places his phone in his pocket. He turns to Artemis. "When we get the sword we'll go to Florence, Little Wolf." Klaus says. "I can't wait, Papa." Artemis says. Klaus smiles at her placing one of his hands on her head.

Hayley enters the Lockwood living room where Tyler is talking with a hybrid. "Dean, you don't need to do this." Hayley says. "Stay out of this, Hayley. I'm going." Dean says. "Just listen to her, man. It's suicide." Tyler says. Caroline walks in. "Klaus told you to take Connor by yourself, and you can't even fight back? You have to use 'non lethal force'? What the hell is that?" Tyler asks. "Klaus gave me a direct order." Dean says. "It's too dangerous. That maniac already killed Nate." Hayley says. "You're not a hybrid; you don't know what it's like. Klaus asks for something, you do it." Dean says. "Look... I'm a hybrid. I used to do everything Klaus said. But I don't anymore. You don't have to, either." Tyler says. "You think you can stand up to Klaus?" Dean asks. Dean hands the phone to Tyler. "Here, prove it." Dean says. Tyler takes the phone. "Tyler, don't..." Caroline says. He calls Klaus.
