ever since that one late night phone call, the two had been quite consistent with their talking. whether it was by phone calls or by text messages, zach particularly made sure to talk to her everyday.
and tonight was no exception. although estelle wasn't feeling the best from her period starting, she still agreed to facetime the boy. laying down comfortably in her bed, she held her phone out in front of her as the call connected.
"hey pretty girl," zach smiled.
"hey," she poorly returned the gesture.
"how are you feeling?" he questioned since she mentioned earlier but not feeling 100% and was pushing through her final class of the day. "a little better than earlier?"
"mh.. not really," she sighed.
"oh.. i'm sorry... i just wanna kiss your soft lips so badly," he quietly groaned as he stared at her on the screen. "i miss you being here."
".. well, um, i'm not sure when i can take some more time off.. to go there but... maybe.. you could come here..?"
"i wanna come for halloween!" he quickly replied. "i've decided. i feel like a college halloween party would be so much fun!"
"that could work actually.. my birthday's a few days after it."
"ooo a whole week of partying? i'm down for that."
"i- i mean we... probably won't be partying all week," she slightly giggled. "i'm having a family dinner the night of my birthday-"
"your twenty-first?! you're not having a party?!" he quickly interrupted her in shock.
"i've told you.. i don't like parties," she explained. "and i don't really have many people to invite.. so i think the girls are going to take me out for lunch or something the day before or after or something.."
"also you're not obligated to come to the dinner, like if you don't think things are that serious to meet like half my family, like my cousins might be there and stuff.. then like.. you don't need to come," she continued to babble.
"nah, if things are still good, i'll be there, i don't care, then, i'm taking you out to a club. after the dinner. on your birthday," he more so demanded. "it's your twenty-first, we gotta celebrate!"
"i'll think about it.." estelle bit down on her lip as she tried to hide the smile forming.
"we're doing it."
"okay.."
the two fell into silence for a moment, estelle letting out a small yawn while adjusting how she laid to be a little more comfortable.
"hey ess!" he exclaimed as an idea came to his mind. "what was that movie you mentioned the other night? when you were here, the one you joked was how the weekend would be?"
"um starstuck."
"we should watch it," he chuckled as she softly shook her head. "why don't you want to?"
"i don't- how would we even do that?"
"do you have your computer with you?" he questioned as he got up from his bed himself and went over to his own computer.
"yeah?"
"download discord on it," he instructed. "one of us can pull up the movie and screen share. then we can watch it together. no need to try and start it at the same time, and then if it needs to be paused we can do that too. it's so much easier."
"okay," she agreed as she googled the app he mentioned.
"i'm excited to see this silly little movie," he chuckled, quoting the way she described the movie just the other week.
"we don't have to watch it," she replied, propping her phone up against the edge of her laptop screen as she half sat up and continued typing on the keyboard. "we could pick something else to watch?"
"no, i do wanna watch it," he quickly responded. "it'll be fun. see how you see me."
"it's not how i see you! it's how i imagined hanging out with you would be- but i've been proven wrong since then cause nobody even stopped you," she teased.
"hey! i am popular, okay?" zach defended himself, also letting out a small laugh. "wait till i come there, i'm sure everyone will be stopping me."
"okay, whatever you believe," she giggled.
"shhhh," he playfully hushed. "just keep typing away there so we can watch our movie already- that definitely is how my life is, trust."
