Chapter 11: What to do?

       "I know a place" she said. Jungkook was still trying to recover from the girl's invitation to have coffee. He tried to walk normally beside her and hoped that he looked relaxed. He gave himself a mental kick and tried not to over think things. "What do I do next? What do I say?", countless thoughts ran through his mind and he fought the panic that was now slowly suffocating him. He doesn't know why he was shy, he's always felt that way, even with the other members. Sometimes to cover up his shyness, he ends up doing annoying things to them but they forgave him readily and he felt relieved. But right now, this girl that has haunted him this past couple of days - "Oh cr-" "What am I going to do?"

         The girl suddenly touched his arm and asked, "Are you cold? We're almost there now-sorry for hoarding your jacket-" she winced as soon as she apologized so he wondered at her reaction; completely forgetting that he was panicking. He stopped walking and asked, "Are you still cold?" he was actually quite anxious now because he saw her sitting on the park bench for some time. The girl looked at him steadily, as if searching for something in his eyes and with her hand still on his arm; she laughed loudly. He thought her laugh was pretty. He didn't care if he was going to get whipped for saying it - or teased with out end - he didn't care and he found himself laughing as well. 

             Well, now that he's had time to think about it, he did sound like his mom - when she was worried. After realizing this, he laughed some more; partly in relief that she didn't find him awkward, and the other part was a genuine laugh at himself and how he forgot how shy he was to show that he was concerned for the girl. Just when their laughter died down, the atmosphere was threateningly leaning to be awkward again when he realized that her hand was still on his arm. As if sensing this too, she dropped her hand and pulled the jacket closer to her and said, "Let's go - you need to get warm too!" 

        She didn't grab his hand again but she started walking fast so he walked fast as well, to keep up with her. They didn't talk again, but the silence was a comfortable one. As they walked along the empty streets, Jungkook recognized some of the buildings in the area and he knew where she was taking him. His guess was confirmed when he saw the shop's sign from the street corner: The Sounds Café. He started laughing again when he remembered what he'd gone through just to be in this moment right now and fought to stop laughing when he realized that she was looking at him questioningly. He just smiled at her and opened the door. He nudged her forward and then they were inside.
