Chapter 26 She's not here...
Jungkook worked really hard over the next few weeks, - dance practice and recording - he was exhausted but he was a happy at the end of the day. It was as if he found a new purpose and he couldn't explain it.
Autumn was finally here and with it -school. He didn't sigh but he was thoughtful; he'll have one crazy term since he'll be promoting a new album but he's so used to being busy that he didn't mind it. He wasn't able to enjoy the last few days of summer because he was working - but he didn't mind so much anymore. He was pursuing his dream and that was enough. 'Maybe I could take a break and go see Jiyeon' he thought. This cheered him up considerably - so after practice, he rested a bit and then showered and got ready to go out. Luckily, all the other members were also busy so they didn't notice him sneaking out. 'Wait - I'm not sneaking out! I'm just going out for some fresh air' he justified.
Feeling better for having an excuse to go out, he hurried to take a cab. It was so much trouble - 'I should ask Jin or Suga to teach me how to drive' he thought. But since he was an idol and he was still 16, it would probably still be a few years away before he'd be 'allowed' to drive by himself.
He sighed and tried not to be dejected. He forced himself to think of happy thoughts and gradually he became excited again to finally see Jiyeon. It was a Thursday - so he was pretty sure that Jiyeon would be at the Kim's cafe. He hoped to see her perform and hopefully they could talk more about their tastes in music. Perhaps, even share his written track? 'No' he shook his head.
He finally decided that he will save the song for something special. He blushed without warning; he wasn't even remotely thinking of anything dirty - just that he was embarrassed to be thinking about mushy thoughts.
He stretched his neck to and fro to lessen some of the anxiety that built up because of his over thinking things. The taxi ride seemed to stretch on forever but in reality only took 35 minutes because of traffic. He paid the fare and shoved his hands into a navy blue jacket - not his favorite - but he can't help it since his favorite one was still at the cafe.
He looked at his watch and noticed that it was already 8:45 p.m. He entered the cafe and heard a girl singing. A boy was accompanying her on the keyboard. The cafe was full so he moved forward to see better. He looked and looked but he couldn't find Jiyeon. He checked the sign again and was pretty sure that 'The Moved' - Jiyeon's band was playing - but 'Where is she?' he thought, confused.
He felt someone tapping his shoulder so he turned and saw that Mr. Kim was smiling at him. His confused face must have been obvious because Mr. Kim said, "Jiyeon's not here anymore"
His heart dropped to his gut and he felt a churning of something indescribable. Mr. Kim was still talking but he didn't hear anything past '"Jiyeon's not here anymore..."'
