Chapter 30 Hopes and dreams...

     Jungkook was thoughtful all the way home. His joy in finishing the outro was dimming because of what he discovered about Jiyeon. Of course, he couldn't ask for more. His career was steadily rising; many fans love him and BTS as a whole. He was having fun despite their busy schedule - but somehow - he felt he was lacking something.

     When he first debuted, he was so young and when he had the chance to look back on some old pictures - it was hard not to laugh at himself. In the past, he almost never had the time to feel lonely because he was always occupied. But right now - he was more perceptive and more mature in dealing with failure and success. He had hoped to test his skills when he first auditioned but to be told off for having no emotion - it was a hard time for him - so he resolved to always give more than his best.

     He got home and he felt really tired. He went straight to his bed and locked the door. He wasn't even dating Jiyeon but he felt really heartbroken. He had hoped for so much more with Jiyeon that was why he was so disappointed. He felt a connection with her that was foreign to him and she made him feel all sorts of alien emotions - so he was excited about getting to know her better but 'I guess it's not meant to be...' he thought as he closed his eyes.

      Jiyeon had a blast in Japan. She had never felt this happy in such a long time. They checked out of the Ritz after 2 days and Mr. Sano drove them to the airport so that they could fly to Okinawa. The Lee family owns a summer home there; so Minwoo and Taehee decided to spend the rest of Jiyeon's vacation on the island.

     Jiyeon felt bad when Sunmi called because she was so caught up in her own feelings that she totally forgot about her friend and their gigs at the cafe. "Hey Sunmi - I'm so sorry - I totally forgot to tell you - I'm in Japan now and I can't make it to our gigs these next two weeks" she said quickly. "Oh - I see - how are you? When are you coming back?" asked Sunmi. "Oh - I uh - don't know yet - I'm still going to negotiate with dad about my plans - wish me luck! I hope he agrees..." she said rather wistfully. "Hey, that's great!! You're crazily talented - you should be out there and making music! I'll root for you - both Minho and I! Fighting!!" she encouraged Jiyeon. Jiyeon felt even better after Sunmi's call.

     Now she looked out the window as the plane was starting to circle the island in its preparation for landing. The waters looked so clean and she can't wait to go swimming! Briefly her mind drifted to Jungkook and she smiled a big smile! 'I can't wait to see him again! What could he be doing right now?' she thought. Her heart was full of excitement and not just because of her little triumph over her dad agreeing to her becoming a musician but that she had high hopes with Jungkook because she was slowly changing back into her former self. 'Jungkook - are you thinking of me?' she hoped in her heart that he was.
