You groaned as you ruffled your hair.
"You know, your hair will look like an ape at this rate." The blonde boy next to you laughed as he walked beside you, his hands in his pockets.
"Shut up..you need to be kinder to your disciple." You purse your lips as your hand moved away from your hair, looking at the man next to you that had...quite a tall hair.
It had been a few days after the incident, and it truly seemed like he was trying to turn over a new leaf. You chuckled as you remembered yesterday. Walking out from your apartment to see the usually suave man wear a wig that's as tall as his torso is unusual. Not that you didn't expect it, though. You knew it would happen, but you didn't brace yourself enough for it and had to fight for your own life to not laugh at his face.
Though you sighed, remembering that you were unfortunate enough to sit behind him. His hair was blocking the view...though it works as a good cover when you sleep.
Ever since he had a psychic battle with mob, he also began to be more chummy with you—as if the walls he had put on before was gone. Certainly, some part of his egoistical self is still there, but you can tell it's going away drastically. Change isn't easy and it's a slow process— but he certainly makes it look fast.
You thanked Mob for this development, if you had to stay with the past version Teru for a long time...you might've lost it.
"Speaking of which, how's psychic training for you? I've noticed that you've stopped absorbing aura from people now." Teru's voice cut your train of thoughts short.
"Ah. Well.." Your hand gripped the strap of your bag slightly harder than before, as you glanced at the busy street before you. How do you explain that when you were heading to school to save his dignity, Mob's power almost made you float but out of instinct, your body managed to stop you without exposing too much? Of course, that's impossible.
"It just clicked one day?" You shrugged.
He gave you an incredulous look, his fingers on his chin as he looked at you with narrowed eyes, looking to the side, "Well, things used to be that way for me too."
You were thankful he didn't pry further.
As you were walking, you passed a couple boys from another school talking about something in a rather loud volume. You wouldn't had paid attention to it if it didn't mention a word that made you have a whiplash.
"Speaking of delinquents, there's this new gang leader at Salt Middle school, right? That...white-T poison guy?"
You halted in your steps. You were too caught up in your own little world to remember that this world had a plot of its own.
"[Name]?"
"Yeah?" You looked at his facial features, tilting your head in the process.
He stared at you, pondering on what to say, his eyes looking like it's taking in your entire behavior.
"..Are you okay?"
Those words sucked the air out of you, your eyes widening as your grip on the strap of your bad loosened slightly.
"Huh?"
"Ever since I've met you, you've always had this tired look on your face, and it's not rare that you space out of nowhere," He pauses, "I'll ask again, are you okay?"
For a moment, you wanted to tell him everything that had been going on your life. From the realisation that this world is only a fictional world— to you getting brutalised by a man twice your age and kidnapped to a shady organisation and dealing with him before Mob.
