As the meeting went on, Sho and you continued to sit in silence, with occasional rebuttals coming from him— and the usual chaos. You could really care less what they had planned for today, and the day tommorow.
"It seems like another esper had been stirring up trouble within this area.."
Your ears perked up. Please don't let it be what you thought it was.
"Kageyama Shigeo. An esper that has been using his power to dominate his peers, or also known as 'White T Poison'."
You rubbed the back of your neck.
"We need someone like that in Claw. Someone who is strong— and strives for more..Though, that's all what the rumours say. However, the proof is evident."
The screen behind Ishiguro showed a detailed powerpoint of a boy younger than you with recognizable spiky hair. It was Ritsu. Kageyama Ritsu.
A snicker escaped your lips before you composed yourself. However, it was already too late considering how the others were already giving you side glances, and some outright giving you a death glare.
"What's so funny?" The man with slicked back hair and formal attire said as he fixed his glasses, giving you a glare you've never seen somebody give to you straight up.
Your arms crossed as you shrugged, "Sorry. Don't mind it."
The man could only let out a sigh, hands on his forehead as his eyebrows furrowed even more, his expression stoic yet more stern than ever. As he looked at you, he clicked his tongue, "Listen, just because you're new doesn't give you the privilege to do stupid shit," his face darkened, the lighting in the room making him look ominous, "Keep a sense of professionalism."
Here? Professionalism? Yeah right.
..is what you thought, but you wanted to at least preserve your life.
"Hah! Here? Professionalism? You've got to be kidding me." The boy next to you chuckled.
Apparently, the boy next to you did not have a sense of self-preservation.
"Huh? Are you testing my patience, brat?" The boy next to you seemed to smile more, his laid back expression and body language igniting a sense of rage of the individuals within this room.
Just as the tension of the room was about to increase, Ishiguro clapped his hands, "We shouldn't focus on such things for now..though I agree with what Sakurai had said."
Sho let out a chuckle as he leaned back his chair, his hand behind his head. You glanced at him, momentarily taking in his form before turning your attention away.
As the meeting went on, as per canon, they had chosen to kidnap the boy and the other espers in the facility.
"Megumu, Sakurai and [Name], you three are tasked with securing the goods."
You flinched slightly, a bit suprised that your name was even mentioned as your eyes widened. This wasn't what you expected, at all.
"Wait, waitwaitwait— me?" You pointed towards yourself.
"Yes, you. Megumu is indeed the real deal, but with your storing energy ability, I believe the job can be finished with ease."
You pinched the bridge of your nose. This is the last thing you wanted. To be involved heavily in the plot? You aren't a big fan of it. You don't even want to be here. It had a large risk factor for you— there's a chance that people you know could recognise you. To be more specific, Teruki.
As you were to voice your rejection, it sewmed that Ishiguro had already expected things to be that way, "You know what would happen if you were to oppose me, right?" He said as the malice in his tone grew louder after each words.
