Chapter 19

Yn's POV:

"What's wrong with you?" He asked concerned now. We were a few acres down now watering our variety of seeds anxious to sprout. I knew we'd picked a more dangerous territory...wolves proved that at night, but it wasn't quite night yet...

"Sorry Lenny, wasn't sure...I just spaced out huh?" I say, chuckling.

"You sure that's it?" He said unconvinced.

"Why?"

"Because you're sweatin' a lot and look quite frazzled." He stared clearly. I swallowed and I swore he could hear it...I was a horrible actor.

"I'm fine Lenny, I just uh...ain't used to this new work...all that easy work made me lose my strength is all!" I assured. Still...he looked unconvinced but dropped it.

He then began to tell me all the crazy things in his life. From his crazy uncle that used to take him to hunt boar...but forgot guns and insisted they wrestle it in the mud...to him and Arthur going out drinking and woke up in a jail cell..I snicker at that.

Eventually we get to the very end of the row and I felt my vision grow dark in the edges. I began to lose control of my body and began to black out, Lenny freaking out just before a void of nothingness.

I woke up underneath a tree and shook my head.

"Shit what happened?" I asked. Lenny turned and sat down the pale of water and rushed back over,

"Yn you're up!" He exclaimed.

"Why? How long was I out?" I panicked looking frantically up at the sun, he waved his hands as to calm me

"Nono- it's only been 30 minutes but...Yn bein' serious...I'm worried about you.." he said, eyebrows furrowed, frown present, and his body caved over as he hung over his knees, frantically looking at me in concern.

"I know we ain't super close, but I'd always considered you a friend...and you know...you helped me, I just wanted to do the same for you, yknow?" He said.

"Aw Lenny- that's sweet." I smile.

"Just...I won't edge on or anythin' but know I'm here.." he said.

"'Course...thanks Len.." I said standing up a little dizzy but he held my back until I stabled out and let go gently.

"Any day miss Ln..." he said. I looked over to see darkened soil

"Did you finish? Lenny I'm so sorry-" I frowned.

"Is okay...you look like you needed the rest, especially since you went face first into the dirt..." he said picking out a chunk of dirt from my hair,

"Why don't we get you back to Arthur and the house?" He chuckled.

"Best idea yet." I smiled as we trekked back to my fiancés cabin.

"Y'all get all those crops watered huh?" Arthur asked as we walked in, tired as the day was long and ready for a meal.

"You might've just missed meal time, but...figured I'd save you two a plate." Abigail grinned pressing pork chops and asparagus with cut potatoes to us. We dug in like no tomorrow yet..

"This is so good, thanks Abigail." Lenny said between bites.

"Yes thank you, you're a damn fine cook." I grin and finish the plate.

"Yknow I helped." Arthur yelled over from the living room.

"Yeah yeah!" I chuckle.

"Y'all eat like a couple of damn pigs!" Abigail laughed,
