Cory and I headed down to Chubbie's since Shawn wouldn't answer all the times Cory called, and he wasn't home all the time I knocked.
"Hey, Chub." Cory greeted as we walked over to the counter.
"How's it going?" I asked.
"Hey, how you doin', Curly and Sunkissed." Chubbie replied. "What do you got for two single kids out on the town?" Cory asked. "Envy, my friends." Chubbie answered.
"Yeah, tonight we're missing one of the Musketeers." I said. "Why aren't you hanging around with your pal Potsie?" "We looked. We can't find him anywhere." I answered.
"Let's see who Chubbie can find." He lifted a basket and read the number on it. "Fourty-one!" He called out.
"Fourty-one, that's me!" Shawn answered, rising from his seat. "Potsie!" Cory said as Shawn came over to collect his food. "Chubbie, that's amazing." "Nah, you wanna see amazing?" He asked. "Sixty-two!" He called out. Out of nowhere, some Elvis impersonator showed up.
"Hey, Chubbie, you got any pie with that burger?" He asked. "You don't need it, King." Chubbie said. "Okay, thanks, but don't tell anybody I was here." "Zip." Chubbie said, making a zipper motion with his fingers and lips. The guy walked away.
"So, guys, how you doing?" Shawn asked. "You know, Cory tried calling, and I tried knocking at your door. Where you been?" I asked. "Oh, I've been here. As it happens, I'm mid-date." Shawn said. "You're what?" I questioned.
"Anybody I know?" Cory asked. "No, she's imported from New York. The windy city." Shawn said. "Oh, New York. How nice." I said sarcastically.
"So, can I check her out?" Cory asked. "Sure, come on over." Shawn said. I stalked behind Cory. We walked over to the table and saw Eric.
"Shawn, don't take this the wrong way, but your date looks a whole lot like my brother." Cory said.
"Hey, Cor, Riana." Eric said. "She's got the voice down, too." Cory responded. "So, what's going on?" "Eric and I are doubling. The girls are just in the bathroom." "Oh, doubling. How nice." I said sarcastically.
"Yeah, on the date Cory couldn't make." Shawn said. "The date I couldn't make?" Cory questioned. "Oh, Shawn," Eric laughed. "You forgot the drinks. Here you go." He handed Shawn money. "Oh, yeah." He took it and walked away.
I let out a small scoff and walked over to Shawn. "Doubling?" I asked. "Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Shawn replied. "What's wrong with that?" I repeated. "Shawn, we went out for two weeks, and now you're out with another girl."
"Relax, Adriana. You're saying that like you and I are a couple." I wanted to tell Shawn that I loved him and that I have for a while, but I pushed it all away. "Well, I hope you have fun with little miss big apple." I muttered before leaving.

"And so, Harry Truman, the humble little sweater vest-wearing man from Missouri, shocked everyone by bringing World War II to a swift and decisive end." Mr. Feeny said.
"And then by winning re-election even when the press had counted him out. Ha ha!" The bell rang, and we all left.
"Oh, Cory, during class, I did something I don't normally do— a lot of thinking." Shawn said. "And not about that big war part II thing. But about you and me and the double date."
He turned to me. "And about you and me and us." He said. He turned back to Cory. "And this is what I came up with." He paused with his finger pointed towards Cory. "Oh, man, I had it a second ago." He said, dropping his arm.
"You're sorry for not telling me you were going on the double date?" Cory asked. "And you're sorry about saying that our two weeks meant nothing?" I asked. "That's it!" Shawn exclaimed.
"But, Shawn, it's not your fault." Cory told him. Shawn turned to me as I spoke. "Well, you should be sorry." He turned back to Cory.
"You probably just figured that Eric asked me first." Cory said. Shawn looked back at me. "You should also be careful because Eddie knows, and he will jump you." Shawn's eyes widened before turning back to Cory.
"That's it too." Shawn said. "Minus the getting jumped part. I didn't think until right now." "Good, you don't wanna hurt your brain too much." I said.
"So, neither of you are mad at me?" Shawn asked. "No." Cory answered. "Furious." I said. "So, you're mad at Eric?" "No, I'm not mad at anybody." Cory said. "I'm mad at you." I answered.
"See, everyone did exactly what they're supposed to do. I mean, you guys went out with cool girls from New York, and I stayed at home and played Candyland with my sister... and lost." Cory said. "I will forever be upset with you." I said.
"That's who we are, Shawn." Cory said. "I'm forever upset and—" I said. "And I'm a Candyland loser." "You're not a loser. I don't want you thinking about yourself that way,"
He turned to me. "And I'll try to make it up to you however I can. I'm sorry." He turned back to Cory. "What did you do after Candyland?" "Me and Morgan colored." "I can't see you like this."
Shawn turned to me. "I enjoyed those two weeks with you, and I'm sorry. I should have turned down the double date." He said.
"Can I get a second chance?" "I'll think about it." "Can you think about it while I walk you to science?" "Sure." I answered with a smile.
