Cory and I entered Mr. Turner's apartment and saw Shawn standing in the living room, still in his pajamas.
"Shawn, we got to get to school." Cory told him.
"What? You don't know the way without me?" He replied.
"Just come on." I said. "Fine, this pizza's bad anyway." Shawn smelled the air. "No way, it's you." "Yeah, I didn't have the heart to say it this morning, but you smell like a bonfire." I said to Cory.
"Oh, no... too much cologne." He started spinning in circles quickly. "Always happens." "Cologne, nice clothes, the spinning... how could I forget? It's Wednesday— T-Day." Shawn said.
"Yup, Topanga is back from her summer trip." I said. "Oh, yeah." Cory responded after he stopped spinning. "So, you're gonna do it, huh, Cor? You're gonna ask her to be your girlfriend?" Shawn asked.
"I really hope she says yes." Cory answered. "She should. I mean, I said yes to this scatterbrained boy last month." I said, pointing to Shawn with my thumb.
"Now, come on, lover boy. We're gonna be late." I teased Cory as I started backing up to head to the door. "Ah, lateness. A problem for me once. That was, of course, until I got me a teacher-roomate. John?" Shawn called out.
"Yeah." Mr. Turner said, emerging from the hall. "Hey, Flores." "Hi, Mr. Turner." "Hey, Matthews, nice outfit. Job interview?" He joked.
"Watch." Shawn whispered. "Listen, John. I'm dragging a little this morning, and I'm gonna need some extra time. Think you could jot a note for me?" He asked.
"Sure, no problem." Mr. Turner replied. "You know, anything you want. "Late," "Doctor," have fun with it." Shawn said. "You got it." I walked over to the counter to see what Mr. Turner was writing.
"No way." "What'd he write?" Shawn asked me. Mr. Turner handed me the paper. "No way." I said, showing Shawn.
"That's right. If you're butt's at home before that bell rings or TV— no way. Snacks— no way. Adriana-Camila— no way. Okay?" He said as he walked over to Shawn.
"Snacks?" Shawn questioned. "I'm new at this. Now, get out of here." Mr. Turner said. "Snacks is what you decide to question? That's what you're worried about here?" I said, walking past him and to the front door.
Shawn and Cory followed. "Shawn, aren't you forgetting something?" Mr. Turner asked. He stood there for a minute before realizing. "My books." He grabbed his backpack, and we left.

"Shawn, Adriana. My dearest friends. It's a new year, a new me. You notice this spring in my step?" Cory asked. "Boxer shorts." "Oh, you wild man." Shawn replied.
"Oh, yeah." Cory said, shaking Shawn's hand. I smacked Cory's shoulder lightly. "Cory, Cory. There she is. The girl of your dreams. The light of your life. Go get her, tiger." I tried pushing him over to Topanga, but he backed up and went over to the door to hide.
"Cory, what is this?" I asked as Shawn and I went over to him. "It's John Adams. He's a president." He said, gesturing to the statue. "School namesake. He was a father of our country."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Cor, why are you hiding?" Shawn asked. "No, I'm not hiding." He said, walking to the lockers. "It's just... look at her. I mean, look at Topanga." He said.
"I thought I missed her over the summer, but I miss her even more in person." I found it sweet the way he talked about her. "Whoa, she's pretty." "Well, at least go say hi. You've known her your whole life." I tried pushing him again, but he didn't move.
"Adriana, that's not the Topanga I've known. I mean, it's like she goes away for a summer and comes back a woman." "I get what you mean. Except my woman didn't leave." I smacked Shawn's arm. "Ow." He mumbled.
