"This looks like it, guys." Cory said as we observed a couple arguing by the lockers. "I think it's gonna happen." The girl took off her necklace. "She's taking the necklace off."

The girl yelled at the boy as she shoved it into his shirt pocket. "Ooh, locket in the pocket." Cory said.

"Come on, come on. And I never want to see you again." Shawn said.

"And I never wanna see you again!" The girl told the boy. "Yes! Yes!" Shawn said happily. "Veronica Watson is back on the market." "Wait, since when is Shadriana not a thing?" Cory asked.

"Since three days ago when Shawn said Menudo was just a group of boys who prance around a stage pretending to be something they're not to please girls." I said, crossing my arms. "Well, they are! I mean, what does Ricky Martin have that I don't?" "He can sing, he can dance, he doesn't hate on the movie Camp Nowhere." I listed.

"Now, if you wanna go be with Veronica Watson, you better act fast. Girls network says she has lots of eyes on other guys." I said. "No, no, I should respect what she and Dennis had and give her time to get over it." Shawn replied.

"Three, two," I counted down slowly. "What are you counting down?" Cory asked. "You'll see," I replied. "One..." Shawn turned on his heels. "Alright, then." He said before making his way over to Veronica.

"Doesn't him asking other girls out two days post-breakup bother you?" "Cory, Shawn, and I have been on and off our entire lives. In the end, we're bound to get married in Vegas and then divorced a day later." I replied.

"Now, shush. I wanna see this go downhill so I don't give in and spend my Friday night with Gavin McCulkin." I turned to look at Shawn and Veronica.

"Veronica, I saw what just happened with you and Dennis—" "Look, if you're asking me out for Friday night, I uh, I really don't think I'm ready." She said. "Thank God." I mumbled to myself.

"Yeah, I–I understand. How's Saturday?" Shawn asked. "Perfect." She said. "Dang it." I mumbled. "Beautiful. I'll pick you up at eight." Shawn told her.

He walked back over to Cory and I. "That was a good move because word of their breakup was bound to spread quickly." Cory said. "I hope it spreads like the plague, and you catch it." I told Shawn.

"Veronica!" A group of boys yelled, running down the hall after her. "Sorry, I'm busy Saturday." She said. They groaned and walked away.

"And busy Saturday she is. Busy, busy, busy. Man, I wish I could be a fly on that wall." Shawn said. "I can make that dream come true real quick." I responded.

"Maroon, you're gonna be there." Cory said. "Even better." Shawn replied. "But I'll ask my parents if it's okay." "And why would you do that?" "Because you're staying with us this weekend, remember? Mr. Turner's going out of town." Cory said.

"This sounds like a you-two problem, not a me three problem." I tried backing up, but Shawn grabbed my arm and pulled me back over.

"What? I never heard that." "Shawn, I was standing right there when he told you." Cory said. "Where was I?" Shawn asked. "Look, my parents are cool when Topanga's over. You know, until ten o'clock."

Shawn started to pace around. "A ten o'clock curfew? Cory, that means if I pick her up at eight, that only gives us— oh, that stinking metric system." "Two hours, Shawn. It gives you two hours." I said, patting his shoulder.

"John!" Shawn exclaimed as he saw Mr. Turner in homeroom. He ran inside and over to Mr. Turner's desk. "Boy, it's good— no, it's great to see you."

"You saw me in class twenty minutes ago." He replied, writing on the chalkboard. "Then why the heck do I miss you so much?" Shawn turned around to Cory and I.
