"Shawn, Adriana-Camila, there you are." Cory said as he turned the corner and met us by the lockers. "Quick! Tell me about your weekend."

"We just went on a few dates." I answered. "A few?" "Yeah, but who's counting?"

"Six." Shawn said. "I want you to tell me about them, every single one, tell me like your life depended on it." Cory responded. "Cory, we're no rocket scientologist–" "Scientist." I corrected. "Same thing." "Not even close." "Look, Cor, I'm sensing there's something wrong."

"What makes you think something's wrong?" He asked. "Does my life have to be in a horrible, boring rut to ask how your weekend was? Come on. Throw a bone to your buddy." "You double dated with your parents again, didn't you?" I questioned. "Only on Friday and Saturday." "What about Sunday?" "Sunday was just me and Topanga at the mall." "Well, that's nice." "Yup, she bought me slacks." "Oh, Cory, I think you have a problem." Shawn said. "Yeah, I think so, too."

We began to walk away together. "But... but you, my friend, are in luck cause, come on, what am I the world's biggest expert on?" Shawn questioned. "Really not anything if you think about it. Which, don't do that too hard because I know how that gives you a headache." I answered. "See, Adriana's an expert on me- a guy, and I'm an expert on her- a girl." He said to Cory.

"You're an expert on me?" "I'd say so." "What's my favorite color?" "Pink." "What shade?" "Baby pink." "What's my favorite food?" "French fries. Even though-" "Even though you'd classify that as a side dish." I answered for him. "See, we're experts on each other, meaning Adriana and myself know a lot about love." Shawn wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to his side.

"And it sounds to me like you and Topanga are in a slump." "No, no, we're terrific, Shawn. It's just- it's me. I've lost my edge. I'm not the same old, dangerous Cory." "Yeah, there's been talk." Shawn muttered, sarcastically. "Really?" "No!" "Look, Cory, I got one extra invite for a dance at Hamilton High." I said. "Why?" "Because my brother's back in town, and he's leading the Military sign up table. He was also asked to be a chaperone since they were running low on parent sign-ups, and he scored three extra tickets. One for Shawn, one for me, and the other can be for you." "Yeah, come on, Cor. You can wear your new slacks." Shawn teased.

"Really, a party at another school? You know, this could be just what I need." Cory said. "Wait. I mean, I... I have plans with Topanga tonight." "Change 'em. Tell her you need a night out with the boys." "No, don't say that. Just tell her the truth, and maybe I can get her a ticket." "No, Cory needs this Topanga less night." "Shawn-" "Adriana- look, Cor, there she is now," Shawn gestured behind Cory. "Why don't you go talk to her."

"Okay, I will. But this is not gonna be easy." He replied. "The key is to be direct and vague, yet obvious and subtle. Most important, I must stick to my guns no matter what she throws at me."

"Hi, Cory." Topanga said as she walked over. He turned around and looked at her before turning back to Shawn and I. "I can't go." He said, throwing his arms up and letting them fall to his sides.

"Be truthful." I whispered, moving Shawn's arm off my shoulder and turning Cory back around to Topanga. "Boys' night." Shawn whispered. "It's not even boys' night because I'm gonna be there, and you said it yourself- I'm a girl." I said, turning to face him. "A girl you're a so-called "expert" on." "I am an expert on you." "I doubt it." "Adriana-Camila, I know your favorite color and food." "So?" "So, I'm an expert." He answered.
