****Mariah's POV****

I'm supposed to be back home getting ready for my date with Jay, but instead I'm at my photo shoot. The photographer and his crew had to fly into New York from L.A., but their flight was delayed so now the shoot is late. I was supposed to be done by like 2, but it's already after 6 and we've only done the first set of photos. I called Jay and told him that I was gonna be late and that I was really sorry, but he didn't get upset or anything.....I just feel like I'm probably disappointing him. Like, I feel so awful because I think he likes me; I just hope this doesn't put a damper on our situation because I really like him too.

"Mariah, honey, come here!!" the photographer yelled. I sighed, knowing that it's time for the next set of pictures, then I got up and went over to him.

"You have a visitor here for you." he continued, smirking and pointing to the door.

"Where? I don't see anybody." I said, looking towards the door. Suddenly, I felt somebody's hands cover my eyes and I frowned because I didn't know who it was.

"Dude, who is this?" I questioned. The person didn't answer, but instead started walking me over to somewhere, and after that they guided me to sit down on a chair or something. They moved their hands, revealing who they were, and I smiled when I saw who it was.

"Omg, Jay!! What are you doing here?!" I squealed, getting up and hugging him. He laughed and picked me up, followed by spinning me around.

"Hahaha, stop!!" I giggled, then he put me down and kissed my cheek.

"Now, you didn't answer my question! What are you doing here?" I excitedly asked.

"I know that you were a little bombed out about having to be late, so I decided to surprise you here. I don't want you to feel bad about having to work; trust me, I know that sometimes the industry interferes with personal stuff. But you have no reason to feel bad cause it isn't your fault." Jay explained.

"I guess, but I just feel like I've been goofing up since we met. Like, the very first meet was good but after that I've been a total goofball. The drunk night, me falling while on the phone with you the other day, and now this. I don't want you to think that I'm annoying and dumb, that's all." I said.

"I don't think you're annoying at all. I do think you're goofy, but I like that about you.....you have this goofy little innocence. It makes you much different than most girls I've dealt with." he told me, making me blush.

"You think I'm different?"

"I know that you're different, and that's why I really like you." Jay smiled, sitting in the chair. He pulled me closer and kissed both of my hands, then I smiled at him because it made me happy that he liked me back.

"I really like you too, Jay. I thought that it might've been too soon, so I was scared to tell you." I admitted.

"You don't have to be scared to tell me anything, baby girl. I want you to be comfortable enough with me to tell me anything you need to.....okay?"

"Okay." I grinned. I laid my head on his shoulder and he ran his fingers through my hair, then the photographer came over and spoke.

"Honey, it's time for the next shots." he told me, and I groaned.

"Already?!" I whined.

"I'm sorry, sugar plum, but you gotta change for the next set. That's the price of being so beautiful, pumpkin.....we need lots of pictures from you." he smiled, then he walked off.

"Ugh, well I gotta go change and get my makeup redone. I guess I'll see you later?" I said to Jay.

"Nah, I'll stay here until you're done. I wanna see the queen in one of her elements." Jay chuckled.
