"Will, Mari and her friend will be here soon...." I said, rubbing the top of his head. I was sitting in his lap and his head was rested comfortably in my cleavage, and the youngest two kids were watching whatever was on TV.
"What's this friend's name again?" Will asked me.
"Johanna, but Mari calls her Jo. She thinks that I don't know, but I do...." I smiled.
"Know what?"
"Know that Johanna's more than her friend. She's always on FaceTime with Johanna, giggling and blushing like crazy. I mean, Mari's 14, almost 15....I'm completely fine with her discovering her orientation."
"Well, if you know so much....why not tell her you know?" Will questioned.
"She's gotta tell me on her own time. I just hope she knows that she CAN tell me....I know it can be hard to come out, especially for teens. I have no problem with her being gay, though...."
"And you know for sure that she is, Mariah?"
"Yes, Will. I'm her mother, I know her more than she probably knows herself. She and Johanna are definitely more than friends."
"Well, maybe we'll get to know more today when we go eat."
"Maybe so." I sighed, playing with the ring on my finger.
"Mommy? Daddy?" Soleil said, getting off the floor and approaching me and Will.
"What's up, princess?" Will asked.
"Is Mari on her way back?" she questioned.
"Yeah, I'm hungry!" William added. (A/N: William, 7, and Soleil, 4, below)

"Yes, babes. She should be ba-" I started but was interrupted by the door opening.
"Mom! Dad! I'm here!!" Marisol announced, coming into the living room.
"How was practice?" I asked her.
"Practice was great!" she smiled.
"Y'all winning Thursday's game?" Will questioned.
"Of course we are! We're going to playoffs this year!" Marisol exclaimed, making Will smile. (A/N: Marisol below)
