Ok. This was happening. Seungmin was going to his first bar, to meet Chan's friends and then he was going to watch him play. He could do this, it'd be fine.

While Seungmin loved doing new and exciting things, and often pounced into new situations it's because there was always familiarity in one way or another. For example, he'd been going to parties since middle school and most if not all the people he met and hooked up with there were friends, or friends of friends. It was easy. Piece of cake. Even, as wild as it had been to be kissing Jeongin, he knew him and trusted him, it's not like he was suddenly making out with a stranger he'd met on the side of the road.

Chan of course was no stranger either, so diving into this relationship with Jeongin's brother of all people, was not necessarily a rash decision. He'd liked Chan for years and being able to finally open up and confess to him was something he'd imagined doing many moons prior.

Sure, there were opportunities that would pop up in his life that required immediate action, but they were usually within his comfort zone, they were things that wouldn't put him in danger but would rather make him a more experienced person in the world in which he lived.

Not that entering this bar now was going to put him in danger, it just made him nervous knowing everyone here would be older than him. What if they judged him? What if they only saw him as a kid? Did he really know what he was meant to do himself? He'd never even ordered his own drink before without his parents at his side, but to be honest even that was a rarity. Now he wouldn't have Chan either, he was on his own in a room full of strangers, some of whom only knew him as Chan's friend.

Seungmin didn't begrudge Chan for speaking of him as "just a friend" to his bandmates, because that's what they were in one way or another; just friends -with making-out-benefits?

In ways Seungmin couldn't explain, he was just nervous, like he'd snuck a peak at the next chapter and was unprepared for what he found. It was his own fault really, for not asking more questions about their evening to Chan.

When Chan had sent through a message saying:

Would you be interested in coming to one of my band's gigs next Saturday evening, meet some of my friends and then we can go out, just us, afterwards for our second date?

-Seungmin hadn't even questioned it, but maybe he should have asked more questions, or googled Chan's band of all things, maybe he would have stumbled on an answer himself. Instead Seungmin had blindly jumped in and now he was acting like a fool because of his lack of research.

Seungmin sighs as he looks at Chan's back in front of him, he was following the older up a set of stairs to where his band was. He hoped he wasn't disappointing Chan, regardless of the mix up in plans he really was excited to meet Chan's friends, and see the older sing and play his guitar.

As Chan reaches the top of the stairs a booming "AYYYYO CHANNN" has Seungmin halting in place.

"Welcome back mate!" another voice calls, and with that, Seungmin finds himself melting into the wall as if it could protect him. He felt stupid for hiding but yet here he was.

There's a couple more voices that greet Chan, and from his position Seungmin could even see a couple of arms welcoming Chan, but no one seemed to notice him and thus Seungmin finds himself glued to his spot unable to move.

He had this daunting feeling, of "What am I getting myself into" and as the seconds stretched, he couldn't shake the dread that still had a hold on him.

"Chan didn't you say you were picking up a friend?" one voice asks suddenly. "Did they change their mind?"

It's only as this voice speaks that Chan spins on his heels and looks down to find where he was still trapped within his own thoughts, hiding on the stairs.
