Chan lets out a long breath and grips the steering wheel as he looks away from his cars digital clock on the dash. Staring at it wouldn't make the time go any quicker, if anything it was making time go slower. It also wasn't doing wonders for his attention, as he drove to Younghyun's.

Chan was sure Seungmin would be at his afternoon club activities by now. He hoped that everything ran smoothly and that the younger would be able to arrive at Younghyun's sooner rather than later, because Chan was dying to see his boyfriend.

After realising he couldn't book their overnight date as soon as he wanted, and that he'd have to schedule it over 3 weeks from their phone call, Chan decided that tonight had to be the night he told Seungmin about his conversation with Jeongin.

Hearing the trepidation in Seungmin's voice when he asked him if he'd spoken to his brother, hit harder in the feels than Chan was ready for. He may have been putting off telling Seungmin that he'd spoken with Jeongin, but maybe Seungmin had been holding back from asking him about it, and that was evidently crushing the boy from the inside out.

Something in Chan's heart was telling him Seungmin was probably waiting for him to take the next step. Like he was trying to be respectful and not pressure him. It just seemed like the most predictable Seungmin thing to do.

Chan was also coming to realise how stubborn he, himself, was being. Chan wanted this relationship just as much as Seungmin, and even though his own feelings scared the shit out of him, he had no plans to hide them away. He'd embrace those deep-rooted feelings, even if he didn't say those 3 words, 8 letters out loud just yet.

Chan soon approaches Younghyun's home, shaking his concerns from his mind as he parks, gets out of the car and makes his way up through the front gate to the door. He quickly crouches down and lifts the little cactus plant to retrieve the spare key the elder kept underneath, no stranger to letting himself in.

Once inside he kicks off his shoes, noting how quiet it was. Usually, the TV was on or the elder's speakers were playing his favourite songs or latest podcast from the creators he followed.

"Young-ah! I'm here," Chan calls out as he walks into the kitchen.

There's no response so Chan helps himself to the fridge. Younghyun always encouraged him to consume whatever unhealthy product he'd purchased too much of, so he didn't have to. But as Chan stood before the open fridge, he found it was fully stocked with fresh food for once; vegetables, fruits, bread, fresh milk, not the takeaway containers that usually filled its shelves.

After grabbing some chips from the pantry instead, Chan wanders to the living room.

"Are you taking a nap or something?" Chan calls again, not that his voice would wake his best friend. Younghyun was a pretty heavy sleeper. He'd once slept through the fire alarm at the Snow lodge they went to with their friends. Younghyun had been none the wiser when he woke up the next day and heard about everyone's sleepless night.

Chan puts down his chips and brushes his hands on his pants. Maybe he could take this opportunity to prank Younghyun. Perhaps he could draw on his face while he slept or even scare the boy awake just for fun.

Chan decides for the former, and quickly grabs a pen from Younghyun's desk before tiptoeing to the elder's room.

As he reaches the elder's door, he covers his smile with his hands and hides his giggle, expecting to find the elder fast asleep tucked up in his bed. But as he opens the door, he finds the curtains wide open and the bed, albeit messy, empty.

Chan pouts until he hears the water in the adjacent bathroom running. Ahhhh, Younghyun was in the bathroom taking a shower. No wonder he didn't respond, he likely couldn't hear him over the water running. Chan goes to leave to give Younghyun privacy, but as he steps backwards his foot gets caught on a shirt on the floor, and next thing you know, he slips and falls to the ground with a thud and a loud groan.
