Seungmin jolts at first, as he opens his eyes to darkness. There was this sudden chill that ran through his entire body, a shot of panic because he couldn't recognise his surroundings for the life of him. But then he hears Chan's steady heartbeat beneath his ear, and he feels Chan's warmth encasing him in a hug and that wash of panic boils back down to a simmer.
Seungmin sits upright, the cosy blanket that was covering him falling off his shoulders and Chan's arms dropping to the side like Chan was a ragdoll. They were no longer on the couch, but back in what Seungmin could only assume was the spare bedroom.
Seungmin looks around, willing his eyes to adjust further. He soon spots a clock, and his heart skyrockets once again as he sees the time...
2:30am.
Seungmin goes to spring up out of bed, but then Chan is rolling towards him, grabbing his wrist and holding him back. Even in the dark, as Seungmin looked down, he could see the whites of Chan's eyes staring up at him, like some spooky, possessed doll peeping from the shadows.
"Chan!" Seungmin hisses, paying no mind to his spooky doll similarities. "My parents are gonna kill me!!"
Chan releases his wrist and rolls to his back, like they had all the time in the world.
Seungmin's heart tightens at seeing the smugness on his face. "CHAN. I'm panicking, help!!! I promised my parents I'd be home before 12!"
Chan tucks his arm comfortably under his head. "Well, I told them that you were tired and fell asleep- and I also told them you were safe and with me, and that we were invited to stay over."
Seungmin pulls his legs closer, defensively. "You spoke with my parents?! How?!"
Chan chuckles, "You may have been asleep, but your thumbprint still works for unlocking your phone. It wasn't that hard to find your parents' number from there and give them a call."
Seungmin cringes as his hands fall to his lap. "They didn't say anything weird, did they?"
"Nah, they just asked if you were definitely ok, and said to give them a call if I needed to for whatever reason. They also said to let them know when you were on your way home, so you can pop them a message before we leave in the morning"
Seungmin exhales as his body relaxes. Although Chan's method had been a little unconventional, he appreciated that Chan had called to let them know of his whereabouts. He made a mental note to properly give Chan his parents number, just in case he needed it for future reference. He was also calmed by the fact that Younghyun had allowed them to stay. Seungmin needed time with Chan, now more than ever.
Seungmin slowly slides back down under the covers, facing Chan. He stares at the older, his eyes having adjusted to the low light. Chan smiles softly at first but then he breaks into tiny giggles.
"What?"
"Just thinking about the wallpaper you're using of me on your phone."
Chan giggles again and Seungmin hides momentarily under the sheets. Of course he would have seen his wallpaper, it's the first thing that pops up when his phone unlocks.
Chan had sent him an adorable photo of himself and his dog Berry a while back, his smile wide and loving. Seungmin had decided to set it as his wallpaper so he could enjoy it every day.
"-if you'd like a more personalised photo rather than Berry and I, all you have to do is ask. I'm happy to provide," Chan goes on to say.
Seungmin freezes, unsure of how to react to that. "P-personalised?"
Chan chuckles, "Baby, I'm not talking about sending you a dick pic or anything. I just meant that if you want one of us together, we can take one, or hey, maybe you'd like one of me flexing or something, I got you Min, all you have to do is tell me and I can provide. You sure have quite the collection of me flexing at the gym saved in your little boyfriend folder, so I can-"
