Travis's Pov

"Travis hurry up!" I could hear my girlfriend whine from down the hall.

"I'm going as fast as I can babydoll." I laughed at her impatience. I placed the final remaining dishes into the dishwasher, leaving the pot to soak. I snagged a few cookies from the platter and a water bottle for us to share.

Walking into the bonus room, I was met with the sight of Taylor curled up in her mountains of blankets, Benji curled into her chest, his nose buried in her neck as she scrolled through Disney+. "Comfy there," Taylor nodded, tilting her chin down to look at the mound of fluff on top of her. "When did that happen?" I asked. She had to have only been there for a maximum of five minutes.

"Like right as I sat down he started doing his little chirp and hopped up." She smiled stroking his stomach.

"Well, I hope the little prince doesn't mind me stealing his mommy from him," I said while making room in the mountain of blankets. Taylor scooted over as best she could with the cat still sprawled out on her chest. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, being mindful of the sleepy pile of fluff before grabbing the remote. "What do you wanna watch?"

Taylor sighed laying her head down on my chest while thinking of an answer. "I kinda wanna watch something nostalgic, like old Disney." She stroked Benji's fur causing him to let out a little breath. Her eyes lit up suddenly, an idea coming to her. "We can watch Aristocats!" She exclaimed with a childlike expression on her face. I chuckled at her enthusiasm while pulling the movie up on Disney+. "What it's a good movie."

"I know baby it's a great movie," I reassured her while typing in the name.

"Then why are you laughing." She pouted.

"Because you're just too damn cute." I pecked her lips smirking as her face dusted over with a rosy pink blush.

The movie started and Taylor cuddled herself closer into me adjusting the cat so he was still comfortable. We snacked on cookies, exchanging glances and little smiles every now in then fully embracing the domesticated feeling of it all. Maybe one day Taylor will have a kid on her chest instead of a cat.

"I swear they act just like them sometimes." Taylor gestured down to Benji when the bit of the movie where the kittens fought on the piano played.

"Oh yeah? Did you discipline them like Dutchess did?" I said jokingly. Taylor glared at me before turning back to the movie. I didn't look back at the screen. I was too busy looking at her. God, she was stunning. After a few minutes, she seemed to have noticed my gaze. She tilted her head looking up at me while scrunching her nose. "You're so pretty." I sighed pressing my lips against hers.

Taylor smiled into the kiss before pulling back. "Thank you for saying that."

"You're welcome, Dutchess."

Taylor raised her brow at the name. "Dutchess?"

"Yeah, you're my dutchess." I placed another kiss on her lips "And you kinda look like her."

Her head tilted back with a laugh before she snuggled back into me. Whatever you say, O'Malley."

The movie continued, she made comments now and then but mainly remained quiet. I could tell she was getting tired, I made a move for the last remaining cookies with the intent of moving it out of the way but Taylor's hand shot out snatching the cookie and shoving it in her mouth. My eyes widened as I stared at her in shock. "Damn, whatever happened to sharing is," I tried to say but she cut me off with a wave of her hand.

"Yeah yeah sharing is caring but I don't care," she said, her voice muffled by the cookie she was still chewing. I let out a loud laugh, scaring Benji awake. I swear he glared at me before jumping off  Taylor's chest, most likely to find somewhere quiet to continue his nap. "You scared my cat!" Taylor grumbled moving to lie on top of me now that she was free from her furry captor.

"Travis?" Taylor spoke into the dark. The movie had ended but they had made no move to get up and ready for bed.

"Hmm?" He hummed slipping his hand under her shirt to rub her back.

"Do you ever wish life was this simple?" She asked Travis's hand stilled before continuing to rub her back.

"What do you mean?"

"If we didn't have to deal with all the demands of our lives, the fame, the constant prodding into our lives and paparazzi." She paused. "Just us."

"I don't know, I mean if it weren't for it I would have never met you."

"Yeah but if we had met and we were both normal people."

He thought for a moment before responding. "I don't think I've ever thought of that, as long as I have you by my side I don't really care what happens." He said making her smile. "Have you?" He felt her nod against his chest, her hand moving to grab his. "Yeah? What does it look like to you?"

"I wouldn't be a musician, well maybe I still play but I never release anything. I think I'd be a teacher, an English teacher and you would be the PE teacher and the football coach. Maybe we met at work and started dating and kept it secret from everyone even though all of the kids would ship us. You would sneak into my classroom during lunch and we'd eat together and talk about what we would do over the weekend."

"It sounds peaceful." I smiled picturing it in my head. "What would our house look like?" I asked wanting to know more about the little world she had created in her head.

"Well, we would live in a little house in a neighborhood with a little garden in the back where I would grow a bunch of vegetables to try new recipes with. The house wouldn't have that many rooms in it but we wouldn't care because it was ours. We would turn the room that was meant to be our office into a nursery, and eventually, the guest room would become a kid's bedroom. We would always complain about how tired we were but wouldn't trade it for anything." She sighed her words coming slower.

"We would have two little girls who look just like you. The older one always bosses the younger one around and you tease me about her being a mini me. When we have a second kid I decide not to go back after maternity leave and retire. Maybe you get a better job offer to coach college football so we move across the country uprooting our lives but I was more than willing to follow you anywhere. People would call us crazy for doing everything so fast but we wouldn't listen, we knew we were each others forever. It would be simple, but more than enough."

I blinked away the trace of tears that had begun to well in my eyes while listening to her. "One day we'll have that." I kissed her head. "It won't be as simple, but it will be our, our story that we get to tell our kids."

"Yeah," I could feel her smile against my shirt, her eyes fluttering close. "I love you Travis."

"I love you Dutchess." I whispered against her head. "I love you so much."
