Third Pov
The feeling of anxiety and anticipation could be felt all throughout the house. Taylor had gone into labor early in the morning causing the whole house to go into a state of panic with Taylor being the calmest of them all and Travis being the worst.
As they had discussed they were waiting for Taylor's contractions to get closer together to go to the hospital which unfortunately for Taylor had been a relatively slow process. She had woken up around six due to the uncomfortable tightness in her stomach and with it now nearing the afternoon and there being no signs of it picking up Taylor was running out of things to keep her busy.
Even though she instead that sitting down and resting would get her nowhere Travis had forced her to go and lay down. Travis and her parents and been taking turns insuring she wasn't trying to sneak off and work yet somehow, even in her current state, she had managed to sneak past everyone in the house and begin deep cleaning the baby's nursery for the second time that day. They hadn't even noticed her escape until they heard the vacuum running upstairs.
"I need to move Travis let me do things!" Taylor whined as Travis carried her out of the room leaving Taylor both annoyed and slightly turned on by his ability to carry her nine months pregnant.
"Sweetie your about to give birth you need to be resting and saving energy for when things start to pick up." He tried to reason only to get an exaggerated groan in response.
"Travis, I love you, but I swear to the cats if you don't let me do something I'm never making you cinnamon rolls again." She threatened making Travis still, she could practically see the cogs turning in his head as he weighed his options.
With a sigh of reluctance, he placed Taylor back on the floor making sure she was stable before letting his hands drop to his sides in defeat whilst Taylor grinned triumphantly. "I promise I won't overdo it; you can even follow me around fussing over every little thing if it makes you feel better," she wrapped her arms around his neck as best she could. "I won't listen to any of it, but you can still fuss." She smirked making Travis chuckle and roll his eyes.
"You will be the death of me." He breathed again her lips.
"I try."
After a little convincing Travis managed to pry Taylor away from the nursery and lead her down into the kitchen where she immediately began prepping dough she had pulled from her starter the day prior. Travis watched her closely having to restrain himself every time he saw her wince or rub her bump in discomfort.
By the time she put the bread in the oven there were tiny beads of sweat forming on her face. She leaned on her hands which were planted on the counter in front of her while she tried to catch her breath. "Don't start." She panted looking over at Travis.
"Don't start what?" He questioned getting up from where he had been watching her.
"You're going to go on about how I should have been resting and I shouldn't be this worn out from making bread." She groaned as a contraction hit her.
Travis walked over to where she was still leaned against the counter guiding her to stand. "I wasn't going to say anything." He gently lifted her stomach taking the weight off her back.
"If I wasn't a few hours away from pushing this baby out I would so be bringing you to bed for how good that feels." She said still out of breath.
"Oh yeah?" Travis smirked getting a nod in response. "Well how about we settle for a bath for now yeah?"
"But I need to be here to take the bread of the oven." Taylor groaned.
"We can ask your mom to watch for it, come on a bath will help you feel a lot better." He swayed her back and forth slowly, kissing the side of her head.
