Chapter 51: Sermons and Relaxations

Shang Tu Island - Jade Creek, Morning Hours

Hours had passed as the morning sun climbed higher into the sky, its warm light casting golden beams over the dense forest of Jade Creek. Far from the lake where the remains of the Egg Thermos lay submerged, the forest remained serene, untouched by the recent chaos. Towering bamboo trees swayed gently in the breeze as a chorus of birds welcomed the day.

But the tranquility of Jade Creek was shattered by the heavy, labored breaths of a staggering figure.

Deep within the bamboo forest, Lord Brevon trudged forward, his steps unsteady. Water dripped from his charred and fractured armor, leaving a wet trail behind him as he pressed deeper into the wilderness. His metallic plating, was scorched and warped from the explosive destruction of the Egg Thermos. Deep gashes and cracks that revealed his bruises and flesh beneath.

His face was obscured by the dappled shadows of the bamboo trees, save for one thing—a single glowing red eye, throbbing with searing pain and unrelenting fury. Sweat poured down his face, but it did nothing to quench the fire of his rage.

"Sonic the Hedgehog..." Brevon growled, his voice low and venomous. His fists clenched tightly. Veins pulsed along his temples, his entire body trembling as the fury within him grew uncontrollable.

The name—the very existence—of that insufferable worm ignited a storm within him. "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!" Brevon roared, his voice erupting like a volcano. It tore through the quiet forest, scattering birds in every direction as his rage reverberated through the bamboo grove.

The alien warlord's scream was primal, how dare such a lowly creature—a nobody—humiliate him, mock him, and thwart his plans? His vision blurred with the intensity of his hatred as he swore vengeance on not only Sonic but everyone who had dared to stand in his way.

"I will dismember every single one of them..." he muttered through clenched teeth, the promise of violence dripping from every word.

After what felt like hours, Brevon forced himself to stop. He clutched his head, shutting his eye tightly as he struggled to quell his rage. No. This was not the time for emotion to cloud his judgment. His plans were far too important to be derailed by a minor setback. He would rebuild. He would regroup. And when the time was right, he would make them all pay.

Suddenly, the sound of a mechanical whir broke the silence, drawing Brevon's attention. He looked up, his glowing eye narrowing as a small satellite-like drone hovered toward him. Its metallic surface glinted in the sunlight as it stopped in front of his face, its screen flickering to life.

The image that appeared was all too familiar.

"Well, well, well," came the mocking tone of Dr Robotnik. His smug expression filled the screen as he leaned forward. "Took me a while, but thanks to your lovely screams, I finally tracked you down. And what do we have here? Lord Arktivus Brevon himself—hurt, bruised, and with a hideously groomed unibrow," Robotnik taunted, his grin widening as the satellite circled Brevon.

Brevon's red eye twitched, but he remained silent, his rage simmering beneath the surface.

"I must say," Robotnik continued, his voice dripping with mockery, "I'm curious. What could possibly have reduced you to such a state? Oh, wait. I know." He leaned in closer to the screen, his grin turning downright malicious. "It was Sonic, wasn't it?"
