JISOO
Los Angeles, CA.
After nearly 24 hours on a mission, I finally returned home. But instead of our usual apartment, I found myself at our private property in Bel Air.
With a two-week academic break upon us, we've been assigned a complex mission, which explains why my first mission this week took nearly 24 hours to complete. During these breaks, we always prefer to stay at our private property. You might be wondering why we have two separate living arrangements. It's all about maintaining our anonymity.
On ordinary days, we reside in a more modest apartment just 400 to 550 meters from UCLA, where we're currently enrolled. We're taking extra precautions to avoid raising suspicion, so we keep a low profile as much as possible. We've even given up our luxury motorbikes and settled for a reliable, older-model Honda Civic that can fit all five of us. But, of course, we rely on our motorbikes and cars when we're on a mission. Those vehicles are hidden securely here on our property.
Being in America, a foreign country for us means we can't rely on the same level of security we might find in our hometowns like South Korea, Thailand, China, Taiwan, or Switzerland. It's only natural, then, that we take extra steps to hide our identities while living abroad.
Just so you know, this is our own private property. It's entirely built with our own money. It was built 4 and a half years ago while we were still in London, knowing we would eventually move here for college.
At 18, we were already legally managing our family businesses, and we eventually decided to build our own empire, with the five of us at its helm. We didn't mind the business world-it was our responsibility as heirs-but we resented losing our freedom at such a young age to fulfill those obligations. Thankfully, we were given the freedom to explore this business world without stepping into the public eye just yet.
Sadly, I know we only have a few months left before that agreement ends. The time will come when we have to come out publicly and be introduced as the heirs of the five clans that currently dominate the global business world. I understand we need to do this, but I can't help feeling a little sad. We don't have a choice, do we?
As I mentioned, we didn't mind the idea of being in the business field. We actually find it quite interesting. It allows us to make a difference in the world, whether it's helping people or animals in need or supporting organizations, charities, and schools. We want to use our own money and resources to make a positive impact. That's why we decided to build our own company. We don't want to rely on our inherited wealth for our personal projects.
After a year of experience managing our families' businesses, the five of us formed the Pentahedron Group. Ultimately, our motivations for engaging in business extend beyond personal gain; we strive to provide employment opportunities, address social issues, and contribute to environmental sustainability through eco-friendly business practices.
