"What movie do you want to watch, Pretty?" Kai inquired.

We're currently on a date, our usual mall outing to catch a movie.

But can I truly call it a date? Kai and I aren't alone. We have four chaperones with us.

"We should go for 'After Ever Happy!'" Nayeon suggested enthusiastically, clapping her hands and bouncing like a happy 6-year-old who just received a Barbie doll from Santa.

"Too dull, Nabongs! We should opt for some action-packed films like 'Thor: Love and Thunder.' Look! Wah! Watah! Watah! Watah! OHHHHH WATAHHH!" Sana countered, mimicking Thor's actions with imaginary hammer strikes.

I simply shook my head. She didn't resemble a hero; instead, she looked like a tipsy homeless woman.

"You know what? When it comes to movies, you lack taste. We should go for some horror flick like 'Barbarian.' It'll be a thrill, what do you think, Jendeuki?" Irene opposed Nayeon and Sana's choices. The two simply rolled their eyes, aware that they couldn't argue with Irene.

Before I could respond to Irene, Rosie chimed in.

"It's a date, isn't it? Watching a horror movie isn't really fitting," Rosie objected to Irene's suggestion.

I should mention, if Sana and Nayeon can't argue with Irene, Rosie definitely can.

"See? What Chaeng is saying is, that since it's a date, we should opt for some romantic movies. Not the action and horror ones you proposed. You're quite clueless in this regard," Nayeon remarked, dramatically massaging her temple.

Is she already feeling stressed? Wow! I should be the one feeling stressed right now!

"Nauuurr, what I'm suggesting is that we should dine at a romantic restaurant. Watching movies is so cliché and dull for a date," Rosie proposed.

Can I just take a moment to cry? I can't believe I have friends like them!

"Isn't dining in restaurants cliché as well?" I challenged her.

"At least we're spending our money on food rather than just on mundane movies," Rosie justified.

I already knew the response to my earlier question. I can't consider this as a date! It feels like I have kids with us, not chaperones!

"WE ARE WATCHING 'DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS.' THAT'S FINAL!" I asserted firmly.

"Great choice! 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' it is!" Sana exclaimed loudly, teasing Nayeon, Irene, and Rosie.

Aish.

"But wifey, it's—" I interrupted Rosie.

"No 'buts,' hubby. That's final," I declared, and she pouted.
