Present time...
You know how they say that at a certain moment time stands still? Sometimes it seems that this expression can be taken literally, when everything around you becomes silent to the point of deafness. All the outside noise, music, dialogue and laughter seem to cease to exist, and you concentrate only on the thoughts that arise in your head.
Freen feels the same now. Her own thoughts deafen her. It's as if she's completely immersed in herself and is trying to understand or remember something that she hadn't noticed before. Trying to understand the reason for their separation, and what the guys hid from her.
Freen is angry. She feels like a complete idiot, a fool, around whom everyone knows everything, but she doesn't understand anything, and everything passes by. It's insulting, it makes her angry. And Freen doesn't hide it on her face, looking up at her friends sitting opposite, looking at Nam's lowered gaze, the same Heng, at David looking at Becca, she looks around at everyone and finally looks at the profile of Becca sitting next to her and sees how she is afraid to even look at her.
Freen knows that Becca is hiding some kind of secret, they have talked about it more than once, but the fact that all her friends know about it, even Naomi, makes her incredibly angry.
Such a lump of rage grows inside Freen, and something similar rises in her throat, that she no longer wants to say anything or look at any of them, and therefore, taking a napkin from the table and carefully wiping the corners of her lips with it, she gets up from her chair without looking at the guys.
Becca feels this and runs her eyes across the table, feverishly thinking what to do.
Freen doesn't say anything, but simply walks away from the table, when she feels a cold palm on her wrist, forcing her to turn around.
"Freen..." Becca jumped up from her seat, looking at her beloved with a pleading and sad look, but there is such a coldness and dispassion in her eyes that the brown-haired feels a chill on her skin and how everything inside her is compressed into a tight knot, and it seems to be getting harder to breathe.
Freen pulls her hand out of hers and, turning around, walks away, passing the dancing crowd.
Becca is about to follow her, when she herself feels a hand on her forearm, and she immediately turns around, glancing at Billy.
"Now is not the time..." he shakes his head, and he is right.
Freen is so angry and upset right now that such feelings can carry her even further, so she needs to give her time to cool down a little, and then talk to her. Billy is sure that it will be better this way. At the same time, Becca's insides are compressed, and she understands in her head that she should not interfere now, and her heart is simply breaking to be with her beloved at this moment.
"David, what the fuck?!" Nam says, leaning forward a little to see the man sitting next to her through Heng.
"What's wrong?" he shrugs and looks at her.
"It's not your right" Heng whispers more quietly, looking him straight in the eyes, and David understands this, looking away.
"I'll talk to you later" Billy threw an angry glance in David's direction, and then, standing up, put his arm around Becca's waist. "Let's go away, honey" his voice immediately softened towards his sister, and together they left the company of friends, passing the crowd.
