Present time...
After talking with Freen, Billy, satisfied with the conversation, returns to the hotel. The guy felt that he felt much better after everything. He realized that he was right. Freen was the one who could understand him. It would have been a little easier with her, but alas, she was not there at that time, and Turner regrets it.
A lot of anger and resentment towards Becca had been accumulating in Billy for so many years, which he tried to suppress and do everything so as not to hurt his sister and not make her nervous, but it burst out of him more than once. And it became easier, only a little, but when he fully talked to Freen. With a person who loves Becca as much as he does, the guy realized that this is it. He just needed this, and he does not regret it, even if Becca finds out about their conversation. The guy believes that he did the right thing. For the first time in a long time, he did as he wanted and as he felt.
"Oh, Billy's back" Becca begins, distracted for a second from the video call.
Billy enters the room with a slight smile, taking off his shoes.
"Who are you chatting with already?" the guy asks, lazily dragging himself to his sister, plopping down on the couch. "Nom? Hee-e-ey."
"Hey, baby" Naomi answers from the laptop screen, looking at her brother with a smile from ear to ear. "How are you?"
"Great" Billy drawls, throwing his head back on the back of the couch and closing his eyes. "Just terribly tired."
"What did you do to be so tired?" Becca asks, stroking the guy's hair.
"Oh, it's better for you not to know" Turner chuckles and, getting up from the couch, still lazily drags himself to his room. "I'm going to go get some sleep, girls."
"Okay," the girls answer in chorus, looking at each other.
"So what? What are you going to do now?" Naomi returns to the interrupted dialogue.
Becca shrugs, looking thoughtfully towards the windows.
"Today I want to go to her again. At least to see her" Becca answers, looking at her friend. "I need it. I want to see her and understand what she feels. What she wants. What kind of future do we have."
"Yes, you should talk. How much longer can we drag it out. You have to decide whether you are together or not" Naomi answers. "Although after what happened" the girl playfully raises an eyebrow, "it is obvious that you are together. But just stop this quarrel. Don't waste time on it. As practice shows" Naomi points her hand at the screen, pointing at Becca "everything can change at any moment. Today you are happy and building a future, and tomorrow you die. All these fights are not worth the time."
"I know," Becca smiles, and takes a ring out of her pocket, opening it and showing it to her friend. "I carry it with me all the time, always waiting for that very moment to come." The brown-haired smiles bitterly, turning the box with the ring towards herself and looking at it thoughtfully. "It's been waiting for its moment for so many years."
"You don't have to wait for something special," Turner answers warmly, watching Becca, "make the moment special. You and her will make it special, that's all."
"You're right," Becca nods, slamming the box shut and putting the ring in her jeans pocket. "It's getting dark," Becca looks out the windows again, noticing that the sun is starting to set over the horizon. "I want to go to her."
"Then go," Naomi throws up her hands, as if pushing her friend to action. "I'm sure she's waiting and missing you."
"Thanks for this long conversation. I never thought we'd be so comfortable together" Becca laughs.
