Seven years ago. New York...
Freen tries to get home as quickly as possible, not wanting to leave Becca alone for long. So in about twenty minutes she is already standing near the loft door, holding bags of groceries with one hand, pressing them to her chest, and trying to somehow open the door with the other.
When Freen enters the loft, she looks at her feet, takes off her shoes, pressing her socks to her heels, and then immediately enters the living room, and as soon as the girl takes a couple more steps, she sees Becca lying on the kitchen floor.
You know, there is such a feeling that for a moment knocks the breath out of you, literally. It happens when you are scared, you are afraid, and the worst thing about all this is that you do not know what to do.
Freen realizes pretty quickly what happened, but it seemed to her that time was playing a cruel joke on her and literally deliberately dragging out this moment of uncertainty, only making it worse.
The first and only thing Freen can say, jumping up and dropping her groceries on the floor, is:
"Becca!"
Freen's heart is beating like crazy. There is a strong feeling that it can pierce her ribs. Freen has almost forgotten this feeling of fear, which makes everything inside her clench into a tight knot, from which even her hands begin to shake, like a starving person or some kind of drug addict. In any case, it is terrifying, frightening and deprives you of your mind for a while, and you do not immediately understand what to do.
All that worries Freen when she runs up to Becca lying on the floor is to make sure that she is alive and breathing.
She is scared, she is frightened, and her beloved does not react in any way to Freen's attempts to bring her to her senses.
The brunette tries not to fall into hysterics and tries to take control of the situation, not letting panic take hold of her. The girl immediately takes her phone out of her back pocket and dials nine-one-one.
Becca's breathing is so quiet that sometimes Freen feels like she's not breathing at all, and it scares her beyond belief.
She touches the brown-haired girl's cheek, forehead, and feels the heat of her skin. Freen curses herself for going to the damn store and not calling an ambulance earlier. That was her last mistake, and from now on Freen is not going to listen to Becca anymore, but will do what is right.
Everything happened pretty quickly after that. The ambulance arrived promptly, and the paramedics began to bring Becca to her senses. Becca came to her senses on the way to the hospital, but fell asleep after a while. She is still weak.
Freen held the girl's hand the whole time, looking at her worriedly. She had already managed to call Billy, and he was extremely scared when he heard his friend's anxious voice, and when he realized what had happened, he instantly hung up, having said that he would be there soon.
Billy is no less scared than Freen herself, and of course he is worried, especially since he doesn't fully understand what happened. Becca is all he has, and when it comes to her, everything else goes to hell. The guy immediately leaves work without saying anything to Bo.

The hospital is bustling. There is so much noise, white coats and patients. Freen feels uneasy being back in the hospital. The last time she was here, her father was dying. She had spent a lot of time in white walls. She had seen enough to hate this place. And she certainly did not expect to end up in a hospital again, and under these circumstances.
