As days passed, more and more people began heading to the base, word began to spread, and June could see the fruits of his labor finally paying off. Soon enough, Brian became a great member of the growing base and made many comrades who he could trust. Rocky, the male lead, dabbled in his curiosity about the opposite sex, while the female lead, Elizabeth, was a yandere woman who always fought and nagged at her romantic partner Casket.

"This world has finally completely gone off the rails, the roles are in shambles, and destiny cannot grasp their torn fate. It would be a miracle if everything went back to the way the storyline went." June gave a satisfied smile while being wrapped in warmth by Shawn's arms.

"They're here," Shawn muttered, his face buried in June's hair which had grown as those days had turned to months, and months soon turned to a full year.

What Shawn meant by 'they' was the military convoy that had caught wind of their peaceful abandoned military base. In the distance were about a dozen military vehicles and three helicopters almost at their destination.

The soul-bonded pair headed to the radio room and met with Casket who too was notified by Avery who was in charge of the lookout, that there was someone on the path directly towards them. "Announcement time?" Casket said.

Through the year they had been staying in the base they had gone through scenarios just in case the military did get ahold of them, or if they arrived unannounced. Today marked a full year they had resided at their current location. And with a nod from June, she clicked air on the intercom and began.

"Attention everyone, a military convoy will be arriving shortly, please abide by their rules, I repeat, a military convoy is making its way towards us as I speak. Please be on your best behavior and listen to everything they say." Casket did not know why she had to announce it that way. She along with everyone at the base felt that they didn't need to behave, this was their place, the military had already abandoned them, but if June said so, then it was for a good reason.

Making their way down the radio tower, their first team of guards gathered at the entrance and met the convoy. Big burly men stepped out of the trucks and stood cockily in front of June.

"Where is your leader?" A man who looked to be in charge said as he overlooked June's slim figure and looked at Shawn, pushing aside June he stepped in front of him and gave a smile.

"You must be the leader of this base, thank you for taking care of in this whole year, but we will take over now, we have strict orders to make sure all civilians-"

"Fucking idiots" Elizabeth sneered as she stepped forward with a glare.

"Beth," June warned her to keep her mouth shut.

"I'm not going to let this muscle head disrespect you, how dare they walk up to us and demand that we step down? After they had abandoned us for so long?" Elizabeth said outraged.

"This is why we need to take over, you don't have the training or head to follow directions." The muscle head spoke with distaste as he looked towards Shawn. " care to reign in your bitch?"

"She's her bitch, and I have no control of anything, June is." Shawn motioned from Elizabeth towards Casket and stepped forward to look down at the general.

"Then bring June out this instant." The man commanded.

Throughout the entire time, they had arrived the doors to the base were wide open, and everyone saw how he had treated their leader and protectors, do the military have no idea what they had to go through for them to keep surviving? How dare they come here and try to take over when it was finally looking good on their end.
