"Selig are you okay. Do you need anything else for your tests?" Andrew had popped in, he was the second in command, and the one who had called him kid in their first encounter.
His hair was usually cut short, into a buzz cut but recently his hair had grown out due to his busy schedule.
"I've been meaning to ask for an Oscillatory blood pressure monitor." Selig tucked a strand of his red hair behind his ear with an angelic look.
"How does it look like. We'll get it." Andrew gave a small blush at the cute scientist who was fidgeting with the sleeve of his white lab coat.
"Uhm, it's small, and... I don't know how to describe it, if possible, could I tag along?" Selig gave his signature huge watery eyes at the man who was the weakest against them.
"I... I don't know, Johnathan will kill me if anything happens to you, you're our hope to get close to a cure for the virus spreading." He looked anywhere that wasn't Selig, his resistance was getting good recently.
"I see, sorry for troubling you." His eyes began to tear up as he turned away pretending to hide his trembling shoulders.
"N-no I'll see if I can get Johnathan's permission-"
"What's going on?" A strong but feminine voice spoke from the doorway, Andrew had turned around to see Johnathan's woman, the woman who he had saved not long ago, also known as Bethany Keith.
In the plot it spoke about her distress, but in truth she was fighting very well, it only happened to be that in the current situation when she had accidentally twisted her ankle during a fight with a zombie. She was surrounded and had almost died, if it wasn't for Johnathan showing up. No one had ever been there for her, as the cliché plot line she grew up alone and orphaned. Bethany Keith did everything herself and had gotten used to it, and now that someone, without her asking, had saved her life without a second thought. It was only ridiculous and the plot's rising climax to have her fall in love with Jonathan.
"Bethany! I'm trying to cheer up Dr Richter since he wants to go with everyone to get more supplies." Andrew explained as he looked at the woman with long peach colored hair, her face slightly pointed and hard eyes that showed she was able to protect herself without help.
And would go down swinging in the end.
"Let him go, he's a man, right?" She said with a hard look at the delicate looking man that seemed much more feminine than her, which in turn made her feel superior, yet at the same time intimidated.
"But Bethany, Johnathan will get mad-"
"Take him with you, I'll talk to John, don't worry about it. Now get going we can't waste anymore time." Her hand motioned them to leave as she wished deep in her heart as they left that something had gone wrong during their travels.
She looked at the gates closing, and she went towards Johnathan's office. She held a special place in his heart and knew full well that he will always side with her.
But here she stood now, in front of a fuming Johnathan who looked about ready to punch her. What did she do wrong?
"You let him leave!?" Johnathan repeated himself when she didn't respond.
"Y-yes, what's the big deal-"
"The deal is that, he's the only doctor we have that is a complete master at anatomy, geography, mathematics, and many more studies, he holds PhDs to all kinds of science crap that our own minds wouldn't be able to wrap around them, he could tell you the name of every single bone in our bodies and every single blood vessel inside us without even looking it up or think back to what he learned. He's the only one who knows that he'll be able to create a cure in a couple of years!" Johnathan was about ready to throw the woman out. "Why didn't you take his place instead."
