Rén Hui; he was a skinny child that was plucked from the street to be a test subject for Rén Ru, his fate was to die of a horrible poison and help Rén Ru's research advance significantly faster, but instead his trash state was cured, and he could cultivate like any other. He grew in the care of Rén Ru, growing up into a handsome young man and very much intentionally creating a bond to the master cultivator.

"Hurry Hui'er, must I always do everything for you?" Rén Ru said with an irritated sigh scrunching his eyebrows as he frowned at the young man before him.

Hui shook his head hurriedly as he began to mix and grind down some dry plants his master needs from him. As he was in a rush, he had placed too much strength and cracked the pestle as well as breaking the mortar in half.

"You brute! Why are you placing all your strength, I need some of the leaves still intact not powder." Rén Ru came up from behind and smacked the back on his disciple's head. "Step aside I'll do it, go tend to the medicinal plants."

Although he was scolded, he wasn't upset or sad, if anything he felt overjoyed that Ru paid close attention to him, he loved being hit and scolded. He knew if he were always shouted at, he would receive all his master's attention. Looking at his master grind down a new set of leaves he could not help seeing his master tender looking nape. His mouth watered as he thought about gliding his tongue across it...

What was he thinking?! He was startled over his thoughts; how could he think such impure thoughts towards his master. With a heavy heart he threw them away and decided to take a very cold shower before attending to the medicinal plants.

Rén Ru was cruel and mean to him, but at times, when Rén Ru wasn't in his books or cultivating, he could see his laid-back manner, his lazy cat like demeanor and wished to sit by his side.

But how could he? He was a child that was seen as a weak child, when he couldn't even defeat a wild chicken, he turned to see Rén Ru with a disappointed and disgusted look. He didn't like those eyes looking at him in such a way. So, he trained. And trained. And trained.

He wants to be looked at with that gentle smile he saw when Rén Ru was in his deep thoughts as he gazed into the pond that was by the cabin. He didn't know what or who Rén Ru was thinking of at that moment. And the thought of him thinking of another made his heart turn and a nasty taste fill his mouth.

He got to know Rén Ru, he loves fish, but hates the hassle of taking the bones out, his favorite color is orange, even if he doesn't wear it or mentions it at all.

He would rather laze around all day but has his disciples to teach and his potions to work on.

Everything about Rén Ru captivated Hui, every facial expression, every strand of hair that fell perfectly, the way he walked, his hands, everything. But his most cherished moment was when Rén Ru would wake up. He waited for the moment and even woke up earlier to witness it himself.

"Yan'er master is asking for you." Wen Wuhan spoke up one evening as he was gathering firewood for tonight's meal.

"Yes!" Pan Yan said as she ran to her master, sitting comfortably she saw her master drinking some tea, Rén Hui as usual stood beside him. "You've summoned me master?"

"I shall be inside for a moment, if you need anything... don't." Rén Ru ordered and went inside his little cottage to take a well needed nap, he had been awake for five months straight, and it's been messing with his concentration.

As he stepped into his room Rén Hui was as always right behind him. "Hui'er, go do something else, I'm going to take a nap." Rén Ru said as he gave a small lazed yawn.
