On one fateful day, a convoy from the Corona base arrived a few months later. In tow was also Johnathan as he had so heroically arrived to save their doctor from such a hellish place. In his mind Johnathan had readily assumed that Selig hated it there and missed him. So as soon as a couple of months passed by he made his way over and was looking forward to the bright smile Selig will have when he sees him again.
But things didn’t turn out the way Johnathan had wanted.
“Oh welcome, I was about to send a letter to you sir.” Selig had a small smile as he greeted everyone, he chatted happily with Andrew, Pearl, Tadashi, and Ugolev, catching up on any new events that had conspired while he had been away.
“People sad Small Selig is gone.” Ugolev said with a grin.
“Tell me about it, all the old coots are wondering when you’re coming back to base.” Tadashi said as she ran a hand through her flame hair, and winking at nearby my teenagers and kids who stopped to stare at such cool powers and rare beauty.
“Tell them not to worry it’s amazing here, I feel like I can definitely compete the cure faster here.” Selig said as he chuckled.
All the while Johnathan was left in the dust without a second thought.
“Do you want to give them a tour?” Julian popped in as he signed off on some papers for the approval of their food storage expansion.
“Can I?” Selig said with bright eyes, as soon as he got a confirmation nod he guided the few people Selig had a good relationship with towards the small market.
And in doing so left two men behind to wait for his figure to disappear. “When will you be leaving? Or are you dropping off some companions for Sel?” Julian asked as he gave an empowering feeling towards the male lead who didn’t look like he was going to back down without a fight.
“Of course not, I’m here to pick Selig up.” Johnathan felt ticked off from the way Julian gave Selig a nickname.
“That’s gonna be a problem, he doesn’t want to leave.” Julian gave a knowing look to Johnathan as if telling him he had known from the start.
After a quick tour everyone was lead towards some extra sleeping quarters the visitors from Corona could stay at for the mean time and stock up. “Selig, can I talk to you for a minute.” Johnathan ordered, making it sound as is the doctor had a choice in the matter.
“What is it?” Selig said after they had gone to a private room to speak.
“Are you almost done packing up? We’ll be leaving tomorrow morning.” The delusional male lead said.
“So soon?” Selig asked shocked while Johnathan felt a weight leave his shoulders that the doctor didn’t say anything about packing up, but was soon crushed to smithereens right after. “And I’m not packing, I’ve decided to stay here with Julian. He’s helped me and stayed with me throughout my entire time here, I feel like I shouldn’t leave, especially since I’m close to figuring out the cure.”
“I see.” Johnathan didn’t say anything his eyes were indescribable as he was hiding his feeling he soon left the room, leaving behind an impressed doctor.
‘ was sure that he was going to wig out and attack me or something. Selig thought.
[As did I Master, the male lead seems to be planning something.] The system popped up and informed it’s master of the changing plot.
“Let him, It’s gonna be fun seeing him whither away.” Selig smirked menacingly as he went about his day as if nothing had happened.
-
Their time there was blissful, Selig had decided to stay with Julian and had seen Johnathan leave in a rage, a much better expression from when he had seen Johnathan leave last night. Selig himself didn’t noticed the way Julian was behind him smelling his hair and giving Johnathan a smirk of triumph. Even so, Selig was still contemplating something. In his hand was the orange antidote he had created in Corona base.
Should he save humanity, to ruin the plot, maybe he should. But when he thought he was going to be without this sticky soul, was a complete miscalculation of his part. He was trying to ruin as much of the plot as he could, to mess with The Creator and find a way to find some type of location where The Creator might be. No matter what it is, a god will leave something behind. It might be through a person’s dreams or a carving in stone. But as full of themselves as they are, they will always leave something behind.
He just has to find where that location is, the past worlds were a failure, but then again in the last world it was his own failure, he hasn’t gotten the time to look around the world long enough to find any indication, that sticky soul had gotten in his head and was unable to stick to his goal. To his revenge.
The revenge that he had build up with rage and hatred, boiling in a pot filled with disgust and loathing. But those thoughts that he had taken with him through the first couple of worlds, had slowly disintegrated from his brain when that soul came in. At first it was only amusement when seeing the soul and his troubled face, but it changed somewhere along the way.
He sighed and shook his head, maybe if he got away, he’ll make some actual progress. Just the thought made his chest feel as if it was being ripped open. He wanted to rip it out himself so he wouldn’t be able to feel anymore, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Too weak from this new emotion.
Love.
It wasn’t something he would have thought first hand. He had thought it was maybe loneliness and needed himself to get laid. But he was wrong. Very wrong. To think he would fall in love, he didn’t even love himself, he just wished to survive in this universe. Wished to kill and destroy the bastard who dare enslave him in the first place. After his goal was accomplished he’ll do whatever he wished, maybe he’ll destroy himself to finally be left in order and rest.
“Code red, code red, a swarm of zombies is heading our way, take shelter in the underground bunkers.” The alarms blared.
And there was that too, the past half year he had been here, there’s been so many zombie attacks. He was sure that they were here for him, how wouldn’t they, maybe The Creator has finally found him and was trying to get rid of him?
“What’s wrong?” Julian’s voice sounded from behind him, he was standing and staring out of the window, looking down towards the people who were rushing to get to the safety of the bunkers.
“Nothing, just thinking.” Selig turned and gave a small sad smile.
“It’s about saving us or not, right?” Julian suddenly spoke, shocking Selig.
“How did…” He trailed off shocked.
“I was listening when you were talking about it at Corona base… and freely groping my face.” Julian said with a smirk, earning a soft blush on Selig’s cheeks.
“I-I wasn’t groping you!” He exclaimed with his hands on his now flaming cheeks.
“I felt violated.” Julian shivered in exaggeration, making Selig blush harder if possible, as he chuckled.
But Selig’s embarrassed look soon left as it turned into a sad one once more.
“You must think I’m a horrible person.” Selig looked about ready to cry, the very thought of being rejected by this bastard soul made his very soul tremble in sadness and anger. How dare he let such a useless thing trouble him, this stupid soul is ruining him the more contact they had to each other.
“Not at all, whatever wife wants, I’ll support it.” He wrapped his strong arms around Selig, the warmth immediately wrapping around his body. “You’re my Sel, I’ll always support you, wherever, whenever. No matter what world we live in.”
Selig hadn’t felt so safe in a long time, as cliché as it might sound. Just being near this sticky soul made him feel like he could conquer the whole universe. He leaned his head back to listen to the steady beat of Julian’s heart.
This really is the best feeling.
But will it last?
“Those zombies, they’re after me.” Selig said as he saw the men down below shoot and kill zombies left and right.
Julian tensed behind him and was gently pulled away and turned. “They’re after me.” Julian corrected.
“I don’t understand.”
He was turned once more to look outside of the window and had his head gently pushed to a certain direction. Outside was an exact replica of Julian, only his skin was a dead grey and his eyes were red around the whites of his eyes.
But that wasn’t what caught Selig’s eyes. It was in fact the dangling red orange crystal pendant hanging around his neck. At the center was a carving of a circle, in it was a single plain but intricate star, surrounding each tip of the star was small dots.
That was the first thing he saw when completing a world, and then pushed back towards the next world. That pendant was the location of a part of The Creator, it helped The Creator monitor worlds, if he could get his hands on that pendant he could easily pinpoint the other treasures and stick them together to create a compass to find The Creator faster.
“I’m a twin.” The voice of Julian sounded behind him, snapping him out of his train of thought. “He was bitten, I was not.” He explained. “We didn’t have a close relationship like other twins, when we were infants our parents divorced, and we were taken away from each other. During our time away we finally met, but we couldn’t be more different. We disliked each other the moment we met. I was heir to a corporation making weapons for the military. He was the youngest and was always hidden in my shadow of success. His hatred grew and the days went on, until the outbreak, I guess his hatred only worsened, I was human and now he isn’t, and he grew powerful through that hatred and became the leader of all zombies. While zombies held no order. He held enough consciousness to order them and plan.”
“So the strike at Corona base was…”
“Yes, no matter where I go. He finds me through our blood I suppose.”
“Why don’t you…”
“Kill him?” He said the rest of Selig’s question, and Selig nodded. “In a way it’s pity. And he’s still my brother, zombie or not. It was our parents fault for separating us. Not ours.”
“I don’t really understand, but I suppose that’s a sibling thing.” Selig nodded as he looked towards the powerful zombie outside, using black flames to burn some people. But their own abilities were great as well, and their comrades blocked the fire.
“We should help-“
“I’ll go help, you stay here, it’s safe, it’s surrounded by metal beams and has an emergency lock down.” Julian said as he opened the door and locked it behind him, a red light illuminated the top corner of the door, signaling the emergency lock down.
Selig looked on shocked, not even getting the chance to tell him about his abilities. He stayed there for almost five minutes before coming back to reality. “Bastard!” Selig cursed, but then smirked as he pulled out his universal lock. “Let’s see if you’ll be able to cum tonight!”
He opened the door and began to make his way down the stairs and towards the fight.
