Octachel (part II)

Rachel

She walked towards the campfire and saw that a lot of campers were already walking over and finding seats. She was just at the entrance when she turned her head towards the beach. She hoped that Octavian would come, at least for a song, those are always fun. The Aphrodite kids always manage to get everyone singing one love song that pushes two demigods together. The next time you saw those two demigods, most of the time they would be walking and talking, sometimes even linking arms or holding hands. She had to give that cabin credit, they were good. She wondered if they were going to sing a love song this time, and who the two campers would be. She saw Annabeth and Piper waving at her to sit with them. Rachel was really glad the she and Annabeth were finally out of that awkward stage with Percy. Being friends with Annabeth is way better than trying not to get her angry at you for liking her boyfriend before they were even together.

"Hi Annabeth. Hi Piper."

"Hey!" they both said.

"So," Piper started.

"Where'd you go during dinner? I've never seen you eat so fast before." Annabeth finished.

"Me? I just went to give some papers back to Octavian. He left them at my cave when I was showing him around."

They didn't answer, they just gave each other a look, then Annabeth asked, "Octavian never comes to these, do you think he'll come to this one?"

I was kind of suprised she asked that, I knew that Annabeth didn't really like Octavian,... at all, and now she's asking about him... "Oh.. uh, well I don't know. I kind of hope he does. It would be good for him. I'm sure he could use a few laughs."

"I'm sure you're right. He'll come." Piper said.

"What makes you so sure?"

"Well let's see. Hm... he did just walk in with Percy, Leo, and Jason, and he is sitting with them right across from us. I don't know, just guessing." She shrugged and smiled.

"Really?!" Rachel looked over the fire and saw the boys sitting together and being friendly with Octavian. She leaned to the side and saw Octavian, he looked like he would almost smile! This is awesome! She waited until he saw her and then waved at him and smiled. He waved back and... NO WAY!! He smiled!! Okay, okay, it was more of a shrug, but I know a saw him smile!

Then Chiron stood up and stomped one of his hoofs. Everyone got quiet, "Welcome campers!" everyone shouted and hooted in cheer! "Please, everyone enjoy themselves! And I welcome our Roman campers from Camp Jupiter!" everyone cheered even more! "Annabeth will be taking the lead in this campfire! I must return to the big house with Mr. D, we have many preparations to make in any way to help in the rebuilding of New Rome." everyone stared at Leo.

Leo stood up, "OH COME ON! You blow up New Rome ONE time and no one let's you forget it! I WAS POSSESSED BY AN EVIL CRAZY SPIRIT OKAY!!! LET IT GOOO! I mean- "

Annabeth stood up and cut him off, "WE KNOW LEO! Just sit down." everyone laughed and Leo crossed his arms and plopped down on his seat. Annabeth continued, "Thank you. And thank you Chiron." with that Chiron and Mr. D left. "Alright my fellow demigods, you all know how this works. Everyone just mingle for a few minuets and when you hear someone singing, join in! This is going to be a lot of fun for you "slower" demigods... Clovis! Wake up!"

"Hmmmmm...? Whaa...? I'm awake..." and he put his head down once more, and continued sleeping, everyone laughed and started to mingle.

"Hey, Piper and I have to go talk to Percy and Jason. We'll be back." Annabeth said to Rachel and walked towards the boys.
