The Best Friends Who Aren't Best friends But Should Be

*That title is long, sorry lol*

~Camp Half-Blood~

Leo was walking passed all the cabins with his hands in his tool belt looking for something to tinker with when a dark shadow caught his eye. He stopped in his tracks and turned his head towards the shadow. Sitting there was a kid about Leo's age wearing black ripped jeans, a black skull t-shirt, a skull ring on his finger, and was holding a small figurine in his hands.

The shadow was Nico. Now, Leo wasn't exactly friends with Nico, not that he was bad or anything, it was just... well, Leo didn't know how to talk to the guy. Leo was standing in front of the Hades cabin where Nico sat with his back against the door. He didn't even look up.

Leo watched Nico just sit there and thought about everything he knew about this child of Hades. Nico's older sister Bianca died on a quest, now he has Hazel as a little sister, he traveled through Tartarus on his own, he hates pomegranates, and he was turned into corn. Other than that, Leo didn't know much about Nico.

Very slowly and reluctantly, Leo walked towards Nico and sat down beside him. Nico turned his head only a little to let Leo know that he knew he was there. Leo stuck his hands in his tool belt and began to pull random pieces of stuff out. He began tinkering without really even realizing. When he was finished, he stared at his little invention with a bizarre look. He didn't know what he made or what it meant. But he held it out for Nico.

Nico looked at the small gadget in Leo's hand. He looked up and Leo urged him to take it. Hesitantly, Nico took it from Leo's hand. The two boys locked eyes. Leo seemed to tell him that he doesn't know what the gadget does, but Nico should have it anyways. Nico seemed to tell Leo thank you. A simple conversation all with one look at each other.

Leo gave a small smile, patted Nico on the back, said, "Later dude," and walked off. Nico's eyes followed Leo until he was out of site. Nico turned the small locket-looking device in his hand. He pushed a button and the lid popped open.

Soft music started playing. Nico's Lullaby. His eyes widened. How could Leo possibly have known about this song? Nico continued looking at the locket. Inside was a small picture of Bianca. Nico smiled and hummed the words to the lullaby.

All the while, Leo was hiding to the side of the Hades cabin, smiling and swaying his head as Nico hummed to gadget that Leo had created for his new friend.

*Aww.. Wouldn't they make best friends!!! Leo and Nico would be like Percy and Jason. Awesome. Their friendship is amazing!*
