They were gone, people he saw as a family had just up and left leaving behind excuses in their wake. Adam had heard every word that came out of Edwards mouth the night he dropped off Bella. He had left her heartbroken, running after him into the woods.
Adam on the other hand needed answers. Alice had just dropped hi off without a word. He didn't want to believe his words when she herself didn't tell him anything. He loved her and doubted that she would just up and go without so much as a goodbye. Walking out the house he walked down the street, the opposite way from Bella. Mind in the clouds as he thought of how to confront her yet nothing wouldn't come to mind.
Tears were streaming down his face by now as the very thought of her abandonment. Going on without her seemed pretty much impossible in his eyes. "its going to rain soon" A soft feminine voice cut through his thoughts, he almost thought it was a fragment of his imagination if it wont for Alice standing right in front of him.
"I thought-" He couldn't even finish his sentence before the dam finally broke. He fell to his knees sobbing, clutching his chest almost as if he was in pain. Small cold hands wrapped around his own forcing him to look up at Alice
"I'm not leaving, there is no one on planet earth that could keep me away from you. There going but I'm staying right here with you" her words were like music to his ears. All his doubt and worry just seem to fade away at her reassurance. "I already spoke to your farther, you staying with me tonight not ok with leaving you in this state"
Adam hugged her without a word, not saying anything and letting her words hang in the air. "I thought you were gonna leave me, like Edward-"
"You are my mate, My one true love. What Edward has with Bella will never come close to what we have. Lets go home, you need to rest after tonight events "Alice silently led her mate to her car even buckling him in when he refused to move a muscle. The thought that Alice had left him hurt, It was as if his heart was breaking into a million pieces only for her to swoop in the last second and glue it back together. He never wanted to feel this way again. Never wanted to have this fear creep in, the fear of loosing Alice.
glancing towards her as she drove in silence he knew that he couldn't live with out her in his life. Not now and not ever, he physically and mentally wouldn't be able to cope if he had lost her. She was his sun in his darkest times. There for him when others were not. He didn't know when he fell but he had fell hard.
"I love you Alice Cullen" it was only a whisper but he knew she heard him
"I love you too Adam Swan"
and that all he needed to hear
