Back in Forks things were tense as they sat in the Cullen's house, since Adam was living here temporally he had clothes stashed in Alice room. First thing he did was shower and meet everyone downstair. They were all back sitting in the living room tense and unmoving. they were all waiting for Edward who took Bella home to shower before coming back.
The second he pulled up it was clear everyone was upset because of there facial expressions. Even when the pair walked in no one said a word. Just staring at the pair that caused so much drama. "You all know what I want" Bella despite being allowed to live as a human was still attempting to get her way
"What you want" Rose stood up barely being held back by Emmett. "We all know what happened, they are allowing you to stay human yet you stand here and still ask. you were spared and put our entire family in danger"
"Rose" Carlisle took a step forward wanting to calm his daughter but Alice hissed in response
"She put my Mate in danger, if you defend Edward this time" It was a clear warning and the fact Alice was not sure on his standing meant he didn't have a decision made about what would happen going forward. It uneased everyone, all looking to him for an answer.
Defeated Carlisle turned to Edward and Bella "you will not be turned by us Bella. They gave you a chance at being human so I advise you to take it. Your not his mate even if you feel strongly about him it will never be"
silence
No one moved or said a word, all eyes now on Bella who now had tears in her eyes. "and what of Adam? he just gets to do what he pleases"
it was a good question that Adam wont sure how to answer. He loved Alice deeply and cared for her family but he never thought about being a vampire, rather just going with the flow. Thinking now he knew deep down it was always a a chance. He didn't see a life without her meaning eventually he would have to be changed.
Alice took his hand standing tall with her head held high "he is my mate Bella, I cant live without him so eventually yes he will be changed y-"
"That's not fair" Bella by now was full on sobbing turning to Edwards who was frozen and unmoving. He didn't dare look at Bella, instead he stared at the floor too embarrassed to speak out, to ashamed by his actions to offer a solution. "say something" Bella looked up at the man she loved, desperate for him to defend her
"Bella, ill take you home" It was not what she was looking for, the betrayal clear in her eyes as his words sunk in. he was not defending her like he use to, not looking at her the same way he used too. It was as if he has given up, given up on them. Jealousy started creeping in as she glanced towards Adam holding Alice hand. It was not fair to her how easily he was accepted. Not one person went against them being together. She felt as though she deserved a happy ending more than Adam. shooting a glare his way she turned away and stormed out of the house, followed by Edward.
It was as if a weight lifted from the room the second she departed. "I can talk to her" Adam took one step before being stopped by Alice. "it is not something you can fix" Jasper stood from his seat offering him a small smile. "your sister will have to move on by herself and that's what's concerning"
"what do you mean, she left" Emmett was back to all smiles, hugging Rose close to his chest.
"Her emotions changed just before she left, she was full of anger and jealous directed towards Adam" all eyes turned to him. He was family to them and they were rightfully protective over him as such. He was not just Alice mate, he was a Cullen even if he was not yet changed.
"what you think my sister will hurt me" Adam chuckled a bit at that but when no one joined in did his die down "you guys are serios" Feeling a sense of unease wash of him he glanced down. His sister couldn't hurt a fly much less her brother. He didn't believe she could do such a thing
"She might not, but I think she should continue staying here." Esme who was quiet before now spoke up smiling at him in reassurance. "Ill feel better having my human son so far anyways" The second the word left her mouth Adam was across the room and hugging her. His biological mom sucked but he had a new one and hearing her confirm that notion meant a lot to him
This was his family, not one by blood but by choice.
