chapter 19:move on

The following days that followed Adam was a bit more clingy than usual. The fear he felt when he thought she had left him was still fresh and be basically just followed her around even at school. He hasn't seen Bella sent the rest of the Cullen's left and simply stayed at their house in Alice room. She has been patient with him, holding him when he needed a hug, making sure he hat, had enough sleep and didn't fall behind in his school work. She simply enjoyed taking care of him

"Bella is still not at school" Alice was skipping beside Adam glancing around with a frown. the cafeteria was full yet she was absent like everyday this week. They wont mates meaning she shouldn't have felt a pull like Adam had felt when he thought she had left

"dads says she just sleeps all day, don't eat or even shower" Adam scrunched up his face in disgust at that last part he read. He could only imagine the smell left behind. "i worry about her" glancing towards his mate she simply smiled 

both took a seat at there regular table, even if the others were not here no one dared to sit there. Adam had his arm wrapped around Alice who was more than happy with climbing onto his lap to snuggle closer. "we can go see her if you want, may do her some good" 

"does she even know you stayed behind" Adam doubted that. If she did she probably would've hunted Alice down and demanded information on Edward. That was a conversation he didn't wish to witness. Alice was sweet but she was fiercely protective over those she cared for.

"nope, she probably thinks we all left. I doubt she is checking messages from her friends of else she would be here already" Alice as always was the voice of reason. She was smart and good at reading people even if she wasn't using her gift at this moment.

"drop me off at home?"  Today was a half day so the second lunch was over they both left school hand and hand. They were the talk of the school especially theses past few days. With news of the rest of her family leaving it was clear she stayed behind for him. Many thought it was romantic instantly making them the untouchable power couple of the school. everyone also knew of Bella and Edwards breakout, quickly feeling sorry for her.

the couple didn't care one bit what anyone thought, too immersed in their own world to care. Alice as always drove only stopping when they reached his house. The police cruiser was gone but Bella's truck was still here. It wont a surprise but Adam still sighed and trudged inside.

go straight to his sister door he knocked. It was dead silent but he could hear faint shuffling inside. "Bella?" hoping for some kind a recognition or response he waited again. 

Silence

She didn't come to the door nor did she say a word. She had blocked out the world just like his father said she did. He was hoping he was exaggerating even just a little but clearly he was wrong. She had given up on the world. Glancing towards Alice she shrugged, taking a step to the door she also knocked.

 "bells, you there" Alice voice was soft as she spoke and almost instantly did they hear shuffling. the door swung open and standing there was a disheveled Bella staring wide-eyes at Alice

"your still here" The relief in her voice was clear. The way she looked at Alice was weird, staring at her as if she was an angel sent from heaven herself. 

"yes Bells I'm still here" 

bella took one look towards Adam and frowned. "bye now" she snapped confusing both Alice and Adam.

 "why you kicking me out" Adam grabbed Alice hand not wanting to leave her side just because her sister demanded it. She was acting weird and secretive and he didn't like it it one bit.

Bella didn't say anything, instead she grabbed Alice and pulled her inside. "Adam just wait downstairs, ill be quick" Alice sent him a smile that instantly calmed his nerves. He knew Bella couldn't hurt her considering she was a vampire and she was human it just annoyed him greatly how she ignored him but came to life once Alice spoke.

"fine" through gritted teeth Adam turned and went downstairs. He took a seat and waited, that was all he could do right now. He just hoped Alice could get her out and about since it was clear their father and he could not. It was time to hopefully move on
