Chapter 31: good changes

It's been a long five days as Alice sat beside her mate. She never left his side, waiting for the day he would wake up as a vampire. She was a nervous wreck as the time ticked by. The whole house was quiet.

The Cullen were already packed up to move in with their cousins. Half the family were already gone leaving only Adam,Alice and Carlisle who awaited his final change.

Time seems to slow as he took his last breath and his eyes opened. Bright red eyes stared back into Alice golden ones. "Welcome back my love" offering a small smile she watched as Adam sat up quickly." Easy now, it takes time to get adjusted to the change"

Adam nodded along already feeling the change in his body. He could smell and see every little thing. It was overwhelming yet he remained calm. Focusing on Alice who kept him rooted."it's really overwhelming " mumbling he stood up, freezing instantly as things blurred because of his speed.

"I know but your get used to it soon enough." Grabbing his hand Alice began to pull him out of the room. Quickly taking him outside."first thing first, you gotta feed. Close your eyes and let your senses lead you to your prey."

Adam shook his head, fear creeping into his mind"what if-"

"There are no humans nearby plus I won't let you get anywhere near one to hurt" Already knowing what he was thinking Alice was quick to calm his nerves. She knew Adam wouldn't forgive himself if he hurt someone in a frenzy. Considering that was his first thought it showed just how kind he was.

Nodding along Adam closed his eyes and relaxed. He could hear the leaves rustling, the winds gentle breezes and finally he heard smelled blood pumping through an animals veins. His eyes snapped open instantly and he took off , loosing himself to the hunt. He was gaining fast and even as the animal he now identified as a deer took off he was quicker. With a growl he tackled the animal to the ground, instantly sinking his fangs into its neck.

He could feel the life of the deer slipping away until it finally lay limp in his arms. Pulling back he instantly wiped his mouth spitting out a bit of its fur in disgust "disgusting "

"You get use to the fur. When you gain control you won't even get the fur in your mouth that much"

"Easy for you to say" Adam proceeded to stick his tongue out, wiping at it hating feeling of fur anywhere in his mouth.

Chuckling she pulled him up leading him away from the deer"it gets easier"

"So you keep saying "

Walking through the woods in silence Adam glanced around in awe at the clarity of it all. The woods were even more beautiful than before as he could see,smell and hear everything clearly.

"Tonight we are leaving to our cousins"

"My father-"

"Your have to leave him behind. It's bad enough Bella knows but your father cannot. He will age but you can't. It will hurt more to stick around especially since you have no control over your bloodlust just yet"

Adam knew she was right. Leaving his father behind seemed like the best choice of action but he wished there was another way. He loved his dad and which they were closer but at least they won't and it seems like now they never will be."can I least call him, tell him goodbye?" He didn't want any to just up and disappear without giving him any closer. That would be a terrible thing to do and he refused to leave it like that.

"Of course" Alice smiled up at Adam already k owing he would ask. She had looked into the future before they hunted just to be on the safe side of things. She had saw him ask this question already before the vision stopped.

"Thank you"

"No need, I wished I remembered my family. Maybe even told them goodbye if I had known. I know deep down they loved me even if they made hard choices for me" walking back to the house the couple briefly separated as they focused on Carlisle who stood at the door

"Already packed up the car, we wait till night fall before we live as it will be easier on Adam" he was straight to the point. Taking charge like a true leader should. He was disappointed with himself on how bad he let his coven down and promised he would do better. Not just as a leader but also a father. Their family had grown and he needed to be there for every member accordingly.

They started out as seven members and now there numbers were up to ten. Everyone had to pay there part and with him being the leader he could make anymore mistakes to hinder his family
