Chapter 23: Verdict is in

surrounded by all vampires with red eyes was not how Adam envisioned his day going. The fact he was human and is basically considered as a meal to them didn't help the fear he felt at this moment. All eyes were on them and it unsettled him great. The only reason he stayed rooted in this throne room was because Alice though tense held his hand ,giving it a gentle squeeze every ten seconds.

"I see you brought our guest plus three more in addition." A man he had only seen once from a picture in Carlisle office spoke first. If he remember correctly he was Aro. The main leader. To his left sat a gloomy vampire he remembered as Marcus and last but not least. The vampire that looked ready to kill them all, Caius. He was told very little about the leaders by Alice and now he wished he had asked more.

"I had changed my mind and don't want to die anymore" Edward took a step forward, offering his hand. 

"he can see every thought a person has with one touch "Alice had mumbled squeezing his hand once more. It was a a very invasive gift and he hoped he wouldn't ask for his hand. It was bad enough having Edward reading every thought that passed through his head.

Aro by this point had dropped his hand looking directly at Bella. "you must be dear Bella" holding out his hand he beckoned her closer. He took her hand without another word and it was safe to say Bella was to afraid herself to speak.

"nothing" He gasped out, looking at her as if she was a puzzle to solve. "immune to my gift but what of other" He glanced back looking at Jane. It happened to fast for his own eyesight. One second Edward was standing the next he was slammed onto the ground yelling no.  

Adam didn't understand what was going on, only able to watch as the girl looked into Bella's eyes "Pain" the second the word left her mouth, it was as if time had froze. Everyone was watching Bella expecting something to happen but when it didn't Aro laughed out loud

"Such rarity but sadly you and your brother are human knowing a very important secret. what to do?" Glancing around he glanced towards his guards briefly in thought

"you know what to do, they know too much" Caius growled out, A look of annoyance in his eyes as he looked between both Bella and Adam

"Adam is my mate "Alice spoke up, voice confidant as she addressed the kings. Stepping up she brought Adam closer much to his dismay. He didn't want to be closer to the kings, rather he would like to leave and never return

Aro sharp eyes met his "is that so?"  His attention was solely on him now making him wish the ground would just swallow him up. "Marcus confirm there bonds "

the gloomy vampire named Marcus seemed to pep up when address. Looked at the pair with a small smile. "there true mates as for Edward and Bella only a blood singer bond is there. Bella feels more strongly for the other but Edwards bond seems conflicted. He cares but not enough "As he spoke the room was silent. He looked at Adam and Alice with a smile. He always liked seeing true mates. A bond that is hard to find that he longed for after his late wife had passed

Adam seemed to release the breath he was holding. He didn't doubt Alice for a second but bein watched and judged in a middle of a room worried him. Yet he didn't utter a word. Refusing to speak to anyone and offend someone be accident . 

"I see, Then he will be turned?" Aro looked to Alive for confirmation

"Of course, I have seen it already" Alice for the first time left go of his hand. walking to Aro and laying her hand into his.

"And what of Bella" Aro questioned letting her go and glancing towards Bella who stood alone and scared. 

"she has kept the secret for two years." Marcus started

"are you saying let her live on with it. Take that chance" Caius stood in anger facing Marcus, clear irritation in his eyes. It was clear that he wanted blood shed

"despite being singers they do care for one another. I doubt she will talk now" Marcus was clearly the voice of reason but watching them Adam knew better. They were proving their point but Aro would get the final verdict.

"what I'm saying is that the Cullen's will be there to make sure. We know carilse wouldn't allow it to happen without taking action."

"and if his too busy playing family to see" 

Adam hate to admit but Caius had solid points. He wanted his sister to live of course but he had a solid argument. 

"enough" Aro sharp voice cut through the tension. It silenced the room but when he turned to face Adam he held out his hand. "Let me see your sister through your eyes."

He froze on the spot, glancing towards Alice who was quickly by his side "its ok ,just go to him" Even with her words he could tell she was still worried. Yet he did as she said, walking towards Aro he placed his hand into his cold ones. Flashed of his life filter through him before it stopped once he released him

"Ill give her a chance, after all we have humans of our own here. if she for any reason tells another human we will kill her as for you Adam, I'm interested in what you can bring in the future" He had a gleam in his eyes as he spoke, looking at Adam as if he was a new project and he hated it. He did not want to be on there radar. "Ill be keeping an eye on you"

"did i do something" It was the first time he spoke since walking into the room but he had know know why he was interested. 

"Not at all, I just think you will be an interesting vampire now go all of you" Aro flashed a smile as he waled back up to his chair

"best remember that we do not give second chances" Caius had a glared directed to towards Bella and Edward. It seemed he had nothing to worry about at least for now.

Turning he instantly latched on to Alice who was more than ok with leading him out of that room. the group relaxed a bit when the doors closed but that all changed when they passed a tourist group. All eager to be walking the halls and chatting amongst themselves. Adam instantly knew they were dinner. 

"you did good Adam" Alice was back to her smiley self. All traces of nerves gone, he was glad one of them could easily bounce back. He knew one thing though, he was never coming back to Italy
