Chapter 17:Bella's birthday disaster

"Happy Birthday Bella" Adam stood at her door present in his hand. Despite their differences she was still his sister. He was still mad for sure but wouldn't take it out or ruin her day. He won't petty like that

Bella was smiling widely as she hugged her brother believing all was forgiven. She took the present and waisted no time in opening it. Seeing a bracelet inside she couldn't help but hug her brother again "thank you Adam"

Nodding along Adam quickly left her to finish getting ready. His ride was already here. Alice had stayed over last night and was already outside waiting in her car. Just as he got in he spotted Edward pulling up
"No offense to your sister but I don't think they are a good match" Alice was watching her brother before pulling off.

"You know something I don't " Adam glanced towards his mate who in return smiled innocently back at him

"Maybe, maybe not " Alice pulled into the store not a second later thanks to her amazing driving skills.

Adam didn't want to go to his classes but since Alice was here he managed. Barely paid attention to anything and when it was time to go he practically ran to the car to avoid everyone else. "In a rush" Alice skipped up behind him quickly getting into the car followed by Adam.

"Hurry up, esme cooked and I want some" Adam loved her cooking. Despite her not being able to eat human food she was really good at cooking it. The drive was short and Adam  wasted no time at all with going into the kitchen.

"Hi Carlisle, " it was a brief greeting before he made his way into the kitchen where Esme as cooking

"Told you I was his favorite " Esme turned around giving Adam a hug before smirking towards Carlisle who had his hand over his heart

"You hurt me Adam " he looked sadden but the smirk on his lips told another story

"I don't know who have you the idea that you topped Esme" Adam smiled quickly taking a seat as Esme laughed at the bluntness of his words.

Before he could retort Bella walked in with Edward close behind. The rest of the family walked in as well, all greeting him warmly and forcing one out for Bella as well

He noticed yet kept quiet as everyone started handing out gifts. Bella looked at Emment confused once he gave her an empty box

"Already installed in your truck, finally some good music in the rus-"

"Hey don't hate the truck" Bella seemed awkward which was hard to do when talking with Emment. He was so care free yet still made it weird. Another first was handed to Bella which she struggled with "paper cut " she hissed holding up her finger.

Time seemed to freeze as everyone watched to blood drip. Everything happened to quickly , Jasper was the first to attack and get pushed back. Alice had appeared in front of Adam protectively hissing at her family.

He won't the one being attacked but Alice couldn't take any chances. Not with him, her human mate. Edward had pushed Bella away injuring her even more. Alice had tensed up turning to face Adam. Her eyes told him everything he needed to know

She was afraid and loosing control quickly. He didn't think and just hugged her. She was tense but seemed to relax as she inhaled his scent"just hold me" she whimpered hugging him close

Adam watched them drag Jasper out glancing towards Alice as they did. They were worried but Adam believed Alice wouldn't hurt him"alway" he mumbled running his hands through her hair to help calm her tense mate"I'm here aways"
