CHAPTER TEN;

THE UNEXPECTED -

I didn't stop playing the guitar until the bell eventually went, but I could tell from all the amused faces in front of me, that somehow they were impressed with my voice and acoustic guitar. I was surprised even, never have I thought I'd attract all kinds of people when I was playing. Did I really play that well?

Lara's face was stern and solemn throughout my playing; to my disbelief I couldn't tell if she was upset or holding onto this precious moment before it would end. Was that a good thing or not? Unfortunately, everything has to end, one way or another. And This time, the end came for my playing, and it was time to head off for lessons.

"What lesson do you have now Lucas?" Lara said, walking beside me.

"I have.....ah yeah, mathematics. In room 546, somewhere up there." I replied, pointing to the large and dooming building in front of us.

Lara let out a chuckle, "Same, c'mon let's go then, don't want to be late for Mrs Trisher."

"You mean the dragon?"

She smiled. "Haha, yes I mean the dragon. Oh! I forgot to mention, that you're singing was utterly beautiful Lucas, I.....I loved it."

"Thanks, it wasn't anything special....but still, thank you Lara. Thank you so much."

She pulled me aside, I was confused. Then she wrapped her arms around me, clasping me in a tight but meaningful hug. I...I was stunned, the hug was passionate and smooth..... I felt like we both needed it, both of our backgrounds have twirled and wounded us to this very beauty of a moment. Feeling the pressure mounting on my shoulders, I rested my chin atop of hers, while wrapping my arms around her like a present.

She pulled aside, I sent her a smile and asked "What was that for?"

"Why? Didn't you enjoy it?"

"N-no god no! I....I really liked it. I kind of needed it as well."

"Good, you needed it just as much as I did. Think of it as a thank you hug I guess, for that amazing song you played by the bench."

"I'll make sure to play another song again then."

"You better do." She winked, and we slowly took our leave to maths.....

Maths wasn't as boring as I imagined it to be, mostly because we were covering the quadratic formula and it was easier than I ever imagined. Lara remained so concentrated, her head was staring at the table, rather than me. I admit though, I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I wasn't aware if it was just a stupid crush I was forming over her, or whether it was something....more..
