CHAPTER TWENTY;

FOUR WALLS AND A ROOF -

Lucas was on him, like a loose tiger out of it's cage.

He was omnipotent, sending punch after punch at Tom Brown. They were both on the floor, viciously attacking each other. Lucas was obstreperous, fully focusing on dismaying Tom.

It only occurred to me, that at that very moment, I was the real bystander. Sure, by the time Lucas was on top of him, there was students gathering around - some were even filming the whole frantic scene. But I, was holding onto the locker behind me, for support.

I had a velleity, that Lucas - or rather Tom - would snap out of the fight. And whilst I wished this, an eerie grew among everyone in the corridor.

Lucas didn't stop though, and I was beginning to worry whether he'd be the same after all of this, and I also began to worry if Lucas's mental state was decreasing. Tom's face was like a ruined cushion, sinking in slowly.

But what really frightened me, was that Lucas knew what he was doing. His attacks were precise, aiming right at Tom's cheekbones. It was like......Lucas had done this before.....

I cleared that thought out of my head though, and aposiopesis occurred. I suddenly realised, that whilst none of the students were helping, I needed to get involve and resolve all of this.

I could've charged into the fight, and hoped for the best that my vigour would remain safe and that I'd actually be of use to ending the fight. Instead, I decided it'd be best to run off and find the nearest teachers.

So I did, I ran towards the canteen. It was my best bet, since there was still students eating lunch in there. Once I got to the canteen, I scanned the room and found two of the tallest teachers in the school.

"Sirs! Over here, there's a fight!" I boomed.

Their heads turned and locked onto me. They stood there, still for a moment, as if they didn't believe me.

"C'mon!" I ushered, and ran off back to the fight. The teachers followed me, we turned corners and dodged past innocent pupils.

When we got there, I didn't need to tell the teachers 'I told you so', or anything like that, because before I had time to look at the fight, the teachers had already pounced into the arena. One grabbed Lucas off Tom, and the other holstered Tom off the ground.

It was near the end of lunch, by the time the teachers helped out.

"Everyone leave! Now! There's nothing more to see here." A teacher shouted.

So, we scurried off. I wasn't sure where I was heading, but I was sure of one thing: I wanted to see Lucas. I wanted to question him, shout at him, let out all my anger at him!

How could he even start a fight? I thought he was different.

Why did he continue to waylay Tom? All he needed to do, was to pull him off me and tell him to 'back off''.

Why did it look like Lucas had done this before? Had he attacked someone recently?

These questions were spinning in my head, and I knew for sure, that I needed answers.

I was eating lunch with Quincy,  and I was considering whether or not to mention my doubts about to Lucas to him.
