Both Jonathan and Tilly couldn't be sure how much time had truly passed since the crash. Jonathan remained outside of the car, continuing to scour his eyes across the night sky, willing Jordan to suddenly reappear. He even wished for his father to reappear – something to give him any kind of hope or relief. At the same time, Tilly remained sat in the passenger seat, trying to keep Jonathan's Grandad awake by just saying whatever came to mind and forcing him to reply to her. It was difficult to an extent – she never usually spoke her mind without carefully processing her words before they left her mouth. However, the main thing right now was preventing the man from falling asleep because that could mean bad things for him. So, she tried her best to commit to the plan.
Eventually, bright lights shone through the windscreen as a second vehicle approached. Tilly raced out of the car, preparing herself for who it could be.
What she would be able to do, Tilly wasn't exactly sure. It's not as if Edge would drive an SUV for his reappearance and not this soon after taking Jordan. As least she hoped not.
Focusing her eyes on the figures moving fast towards them, Tilly could feel the flood of relief hit her as she recognised the forms of Sarah, Kyle and Lana. There was no time to waste as Jonathan pleaded for them to help his grandfather, who was struggling to stay awake now more than ever.
"Let me get him, let me get him" Kyle reassured the boy, who stepped back in order to let the man do his thing. After getting the side door open, Kyle immediately reached forward to catch the man as he went to fall through the newly formed gap.
"We need to get them all to a hospital" Lana declared.
Tilly ran to her side, a stressed shudder hitting her shoulders, "I called 911 but that felt ages ago"
"We don't have time for that" Sam grunted, despite needing to be physically held up by both Kyle and Jonathan so that he could remain upright.
"General, listen," Kyle called, concern displayed plainly in his voice, "you're hurt, you could have internal injuries—"
"All I care about is finding the son of a bitch who took my grandson!"
Tilly could see the fearful expression covering Jonathan's face at not only the reminder of his missing brother but also the state of his grandad. Even the sight of Tilly wasn't doing too much to comfort him as usual due to the blood covering her form. What if there was something more wrong with her too? Internally? He would never be able to forgive himself for bringing her into his world and getting her hurt straight away.
There was an attempt at sending him a nod of assurance that things would be okay from Tilly. But even she couldn't fully believe her own intensions.
"Lana, I think I have some slings in the truck, okay?" Kyle sent his wife running back to their car in hopes of treating the man the best that they could while they either waited for the ambulance to arrive or for the man to give in and allow them to take him to the hospital. He turned back to the man he was keeping stood up, trying to steady him as best as he could, "let's just take it easy right here"
The next thing Tilly knew, her arms were being lightly grabbed and a heavily concerned voice hit her ears, "sweetie, are you okay? Tilly? Sweetheart?"
She hadn't even realized that Jonathan had responded to her concern, leaving her own answer up in the air. Seeing the urgency in Lana's eyes as she flickered her sights over their bruised and cut up bodies, Tilly nodded.
"I'm good, Lana" she reassured. The effort it took to make her voice as convincing as possible resulted in her head throbbing even worse than before, but she did her best to ignore it. She wasn't the priority right now.
