"Hey guys" Sarah greeted a certain pair of twins loudly.
"How are we doing on this dreadful day?" Tilly added with a small smirk, just as the boys turned to face them at the same time. But the amused look on Tilly's face was immediately wiped away when she caught sight of the splashes of red and purple spread across Jordan's face.
But before she could question it herself, Sarah got in there first.
"Oh my god. What happened to your face? Did you get beat up on your way home or something?"
"Who do I need to fight?" Tilly demanded. She watched the boys look at each other, clearly questioning whether she was being serious or not. But if they knew her at all, they would know that she was being deadly serious. And that was reflected in the unchanged stare she was sending them, which made them stutter for a few moments, at least until they found the words to voice the reason. Or maybe their excuse.
Jonathan was the first to speak up, explaining their reasoning, "we were running plays this morning in the front yard and then I-I juked him and he tripped and fell"
Tilly raised a brow, "you're saying all of that" she motioned towards Jordan's face, "happened because of a trip?"
"Well, I hope you do better tomorrow at the game" Sarah spoke up, effectively giving the boys the opportunity of escape to not answer the question the blonde posed, "because I'd hate to go all the way to Metropolis just to see you eat it"
"As much as that would be entertaining" Tilly added with a small snort.
"You're coming?" Jordan asked exasperatedly.
"Uh yeah" Sarah replied, in a tone suggesting it was obvious, "friends can root for friends, right?"
Tilly sent her a nudge, but her eyes still remained on the twins, "don't you guys worry, I'll be there cheering you on. As always. Besides Clark already offered to allow me to tag along"
Sarah pulled on Tilly's arm and the two went away, leaving the boys in the hallway to continue their chat.
It was now a few days after the events of the Harvest Festival and the donation drive. Every day since, Tilly had visited the bench made in Martha's honour. Although she was scared at first with the haunting of the memories encapsulating her mind, the more time she spent there, the more she felt the connection very slowly building back up in her heart and less she felt haunted by Martha's lack of presence. But since the night of the festival itself, none of them have spoken of the events that took place since. Maybe because it was too awkward. Maybe it was too much to talk about in one conversation. Maybe it was just too personal. Maybe all of the above. But either way, they all still remembered it, nonetheless.
And some people want to speak about it more than others. To name a person: Jonathan. He still wanted to know what made Tilly flinch when he went near her. Yeah, it's true not many people like drunk people but to flinch like that... that was something else. And he wasn't ready to leave it alone just yet. But for right now at least, he was just going to continue as normal until he had the opportunity to ask.

Saturday quickly arrived and Sarah was no longer willing to go to the game in Metropolis. This left Tilly to be forced to catch a ride with the Kents without her best friend. Whilst she wasn't as reluctant as she would've been before everything went down around the Harvest Festival, it still wasn't the most ideal situation. But during the ride there, it wasn't actually as bad as she dreaded. The group flipped through conservations as if they were reading a book and if they weren't doing that, they were annoying Clark with singing whatever familiar song they heard on the radio.
